Evening all L.O's,
I'm doing a diorama piece, hopefully for golden demon and I need to know, what colour are the "Fallen" angels. I've heard two idea's, some say they are Dark Green, like their brethren are now, though some one has sought of convinced me that they are black, though went green to hide the shame. If that is the case, what is the colour of the, armour trim and the cloth? Thanks to all contributions.
1st Combined Regiment. Contains Tallarn,Cadians, Catachans,Valhallan,Attilan,Armageddon Steel Legion and Vostroyan. Most Kills in one turn: 98 space marines and 6 rhinos with only the stompa's Gatla Gun (only that)
The original Legion wore black, but since then they changed to green.
So really, one of the Fallen could look like anything. They're always hiding and have been around for quite a while, so it's not unreasonable to think they might change their armor to better blend in with the CSM/IG/whatever they hang out with or just to erase the last remnants of their allegiance to the Dark Angels out of bitterness/regret.
On a GD piece, go with whatever makes it look most dynamic and showcases your leet painter skills.

As i understand it from reading the Tales of Heresy short stories, the original Dark Angels wore "shadow-black" armor with a Red winged sword on their left shoulder and during that story they join up with a new chapter fresh from Caliban and they are wearing green at the Lions orders to remember the battles fought to tame Caliban. So it depends when in the time line you are basing your Diorama. They could be black, dark green, or whatever color that particular group of Fallen Angels have changed too.

I have sadly passed that line o.0?
I would go with black to make them obviously different.
There are rumours of green clad marines in the fluff and Cypher wears Green so I think most would be green, some may have gone 'back to black' when they turned from the Lion

Take a look in the newest CSM codex at the different color set ups they have for the different marrines they have. One of them you will notice is wearing a black/grey cloak with green armour and is called an unknown chapter of CSM. It went around a bit that this was a group of the fallen and personaly I agree with that thinking.
if you go by the books they are suppose to be wearing black robes with green armor, but their are some variations on it.

The last thing you should do is follow the scheme used by the idiot painters at GW: identical to a current-era dark angel, but with red Xs over all iconography (shoulder pads and knee pads, generally, sometimes the breastplate). That's plain dumb, and ugly to boot. First of all, they fell before DA armor went sally green. Second, they'd repaint their armor and grind off any icons, not paint a red ex over them if they wanted to avoid being mistaken for loyalist DA.

The red X is to represent more recent marines turning to chaos and then falling in with the Red Corsairs. To be honest i think you could paint them any colour scheme that you want. Though i think they would look most have black armour. With light coloured robes of cream/white. Though yes i would imagine that in the forty first millennium if you can get Power Armour how difficult would it be to get a pot of paint and paint your black armour green. I say paint them what ever colour you think would look best.
