About a year ago, I managed to score a Sisters unit box for a pretty good price on eBay (held in storage until I finish my tau and settle on a painjob for them (black and red! ...no, wait, faint greyish blue! ...er, I mean...)).
Of course, that means I have one packing the not quite loved stormbolter, usually cut up and altered by many, I believe.
However, rather than trying out my metalworking skills, I've just been struck with an idea... rather than cut up a lovely model, why not just stick her in the hatch of a rhino, serving as the pintle storm bolter? It should add a little more sisterness to the boxy machine, right?
You could do what I did - use the stormbolter models to test out your paint style
If they were cheaper i'd actually fancy trying out a 5 stormbolter dominion squad - perhaps they'll be more accessible in the next codex.
Regarding the hatch - do you mean the back hatch? I doubt the model would fit into a regular rhino hatch, though the immolator-set rhino should be ok. You'll need to cut away a fair bit of plastic beneath the front hatch but you should be able to replace it with a large bottle top as a platform to stand on - something from a fruit juice bottle should be the right size.
I've kept the original rhino hatches, I felt that looked fine as they were.
As I'm kitting my sister squads with meltaguns and heavy flamers. Out of every box of 10, I'm left with two sisters. No problem, as AT said use them for practicing colour schemes. I'm going to keep them for making dominion squads in bigger games. While I'm unlikely to use storm bolters in dominion squads I can always experiment.
If someone helps you, rep them.
In a votewar you don't vote on a single match, you vote on the entire round. Got that?
I've been wanting to get Cadian flamers to cut off the flamer nozzes, and stick two of them onto a StormBolter to make a Hflamer. I'll have to work up something good for the ammo box, but that won't be hard.

The major problem with this is you do sort of have to know what army you are facing for it to work and that enters territory that is best left for the individual player to decide. Regardless, against a traditional gaunt horde and guard mass they are very good.
Storm bolters on vet sisters if you don't take the brazier are pretty good, the problem is the extra range is nearly redudant as if the vet. sisters is using it the rest of your squad is not shooting which (in my experience) doesn't come up to much - plus with run it sort of defeats the object.
I have a Storm Bolter superior in my Heavy Bolters Retributor squad. Compliments the squad nicely given its range.
I also like the idea of having 5 Storm Bolters in a Dominion squad, add a Rhino with 2 Storm Bolters and you've got a small unit pumping out alot of shots. Another way of playing it is to have only 2 sisters with storm bolters in the dominnion squad and a 2 storm bolter rhino, then they ride around uisng the rear hatch. Just little ideas here, put it to practice though and you just a small unit pumping out those extra shots from behind the scenes, handy if you need additional anti-infantry shots somewhere else quickly, but if you're mechanised already not really much of an issue.
4-5 stormbolters (putting one on the SS is expensive!) in a dominion squad isn't really a bad deal...if you've filled your heavy slots and want an immolator...they're nonscoring, so they'll draw less fire...and 8-10 boltgun shots is worth getting out of bed for, but not so threatening that your opponent will make a real effort at killing them...I think they're worth the points...but again only if you want/need the immolator without taking up a heavy slot. I've done it once or twice with decent results. The only real downside is that there are usually better uses for the points.
