Well got my first models painted up. I think they turned out pretty well. Went with the old DA color scheme, still need to put the red icons on the shoulders. And I plan on doing the crest on the Sergent's chest red, I also want to do some touch-ups on his robe. I still have a rhino to paint up, and I need to get a Ravenwing Attack Squad ordered for my next set of things to model and paint.
They are all headless because I am currently waiting on an order of Steam Knight heads to come in from MaxMini.
And please forgive me for the picture quality, I'm using my phone as my camera.
Not bad! I really like the cloak on the first guy, probably my favorite bit of them all. They could use some highlighting and a splash of a few extra colors I think though. You've got a lot of flat black and solid silver items on those buggers
Yeah, I was really happy with how my first cloak turned out. I was really worried. Since the pic I've touched up the lighter areas light the top of the head and the knees with some lighter colors. I'm thinking about adding some brown to the pouches, but am having trouble figuring out what other colors to add. I really like how the blue that I used on the purity seals looks against the black. Any suggestions would be welcome.
And yes I plan on doing some highlights on the black with some grey, just forgot to get the grey when I was at the shop.
wow they are pretty impressive, much better than my ones i have at the moment. good job i cant wait to see the finished models.
dark angels army: vengance of caliban 3500pt army
wins:1 draw:2 loss:1
Well done, mate. As was said before, highlighting the dark areas would be nice. You could highlight with grey or, take the anime style, and highlight with dark blue. I kinda like the blue personally. They're looking good!
Applaud, my friend, the Comedy is finished.
Hive Fleet Charybdis (1-0-0) and Grey Brothers Space Wolf Chapter (3-1-2) [W-L-T]
I find it really depressing how even beginners blow me out of the water. Good job though, at least I can take solace in my potential opponents having attractive armies. :]

So last night I got the pouches painted brown and painted the grips on the bolters blue. I also got some highlight lines on one of t he minis but didn't feel like mixing black and white all night to do highlights. I'm going to stop and get some grey on my way home today. I'l get some pics up tonight.
The kind words are very encouraging. Thanks guys. Hopefully I can find a better place to take some well lit pics.
Also, not that we don't appreciate well painted minis in the army forums, you might want to post these in the Painting Hobby forum on these boards as well. You'll find a lot of very experienced painters there that can offer a lot more advice than I can with painting I'm just happy my minis are reasonable from a good 3-4ft distance when I'm done with them
Yeah, I posted in there and got 0 responses
