Inquisitor Lord (DA)
Inquistor Lord and Assassin
Marbo (the cheap man's assassin)
With the amount of psykers out there now, I was wondering what everybody's favorite method of psyker protection is.
Do you spring for a hood (either Inquisitor or Grey Knight) and/or do you bring assassins to deal with them. Or do you just bring more guns to the table?

Most Notable Achievements:
Killed a Revenant Titan in one shot.
Killed 900 pts worth of Blood Angels in 2 turns while only loosing 4 pts.
Voted for more guns although Marbo as a psyker assassin is a compelling idea.
I imagine I'd prefer not having to cross into other Codecies (is that what it's called?) in order to get my psyker protection, so I'm compelled to tell the Inquisition to stuff it and put my trust in the power of blast templates and cleansing plasma...
The answer, like the answer to most questions I ask myself, is more guns.
No one fears a lasgun. Everyone fears forty.
Only 40? I like to have 60 or so in 1500pts.
Remember it takes 18 lasgun shots to kill a marine, 36 if he's in terminator armour!

More guns is a good option, but not an elegant one. What do you use to hunt witches? A witch hunter, of course! OH Inquisitor Lady with Purgatus (nothing funnier than eldrad running around trying to get LD7 spells past an LD10 PH) and Hammer of Witches (read the rules for HoW and compare those to the rules for a PBS) for powers and a bolterstake crossbow for a weapon. Accept no substitute!I have 54...plus 9 chimeras, 2 griffons, and 4 russes in 1750. (the other 15 guys have 6 autocannons, 6 meltas, and 9 laspistols...stupid sergeants with no lasgun option!)Only 40? I like to have 60 or so in 1500pts.

Putting a Hood in the army is pretty cheap imho. I really feel that Inducted units have no part in the game, they're just a useful loophole from editions past. Hopefully it will be corrected someday if Inquisition ever gets some love.
I say more guns and good old fashioned tactics. All the powerful psykers have a weakness. Rune Priests can't have an Invuln if they're in a Rhino, which is a good ride for them because they can shoot out of it. So pop the Rhino and Insta-Kill him. If he's on foot....well your opponent is an idiot so you'll probably win. Zoanthropes can be avoided using Reserves, rather easily if they run Hive Commander, or protect your big tanks with Russes or cover. Zoanthropes are very squishy, I see them as a unit that gets one chance to do something than dies. BA Librarians aren't really something that scares me and most other psykers suck against Guard or in general.
DH Inquisitor Lord - Hood, x2 Mystics, x3 Warriors, IG Chimera, (possible Tarot)
Psychic and Deepstrike defense with some good offense ability in a solid transport for around 192 - 222 depending on how you load them out. A lot of points for an IG list considering you can get a Leman Russ and then some for the same cost. But in most competitive games I've played, they've been well worth the cost. You can make the squad cheaper as well with something like:
DH Inquisitor Lord - Hood, x2 Mystics, x1 Multimelta Servitor, IG Chimera - 167
Whether its something like this or just more guns really depends on the kind of list you'll be running. There is no be-all end-all way to handle psykers.
Better off with the more guns options, and hope that your Eldar opponent doesn't have a big jetbike squadron or leave him in a wave serpent the entire match.
I don't consider Eldar psykers powerful. Doom is okay but with all the mech, it's getting worse and worse. Warlocks are just good Sarges with Heavy Flamers. It really does suck the army that's supposed to re-make the galaxy with their minds are over shadowed by two Marine armies, 'Nids and in some ways Chaos.
