first up i want a good list because
i just heared two club members are going away but more inportant there are 3 necron players and 1 space marine player to join next week
the armys at my club are 5 necron 3 space marine 1 imperial guard 1 tau players
the imperial guard has an to small army to play battles and the tau and 2 necrons are only painting and the others are all experienced players
so the next weeks i am going to play only necron so we are planing to do some team ups the other marine player and i against a swarm of necron but thats is in a few weeks
so first some battles against necron 1500 same player
information from the enemy
probaly 2-3 monothilths or something
2 warrior squads
and a lots of destroyers
i was thinking of 1-2 vindicators
2-3 dreadnoughts /ironclads
sternguard 4-6 combi melta's rhino
2-3 tactical squads
and some speeders
spill your ideas all over
maybe critics tactics or help with the list
it's all welcome here
ps: don't watch to the spelling i need to write in an other language
As a Veteran necron player the best advice I can give you is to use lots of long range High Str Low ap guns and effective combat
Doubling toughness means no we'll be back rolls for the Cron player and you want to be able to knock the Monoliths out of commission ASAP due to the portal the necron player can abuse the we'll be back rolls and if he is running more then 2 monoliths he essentially will get We'll be back rolls with Re'rolls.
Unless he is running Lord with a Destroyer body destroyers are pretty easy to handle, the most he can run is 15 and again as long as you have those high powered guns with low ap values they wont be coming back! On a side note with them if you play with a couple outflanking combat units (Fleet is good here) most of the time destroyers are kept off to the side of the boards out of the way so If you can get into combat with them they wont last very long either.
All of the above applies to the warrior squads, they should be very easy to deal with once the rest of the list is out of commission.
Hope this helps!
P.S. A good anti Character squad doesn't hurt either
I play necrons occasionally and they always mess with me since I usually fight Nids and Orks. Sternguard are handy. Plasma is nice. Vindicators are great but have to get too close to those destroyers for comfort. I have had a lot of success drop podding the ironclad dreads in on them.
Any advice on killing Nightbringers? Focus fire of long range high stregnth weapons seems to be the main way.
If i rember a sternguard squad using Hellfire rounds or vengance rounds (don't rember exatly) should be able to take down most any necron unit except for a monolith.
I feel plasma cannons in tactical squads are greatly over looked. They're only 5 pts. Would be great for dealing with warrior squads leaving your heavy units to tackle more juicy targets
Personally I would say forget about him and Phase the Necron player out, He might cause some problems but he wont win the game and at 300+ points hes very costly for what you get!
(Just an Example)
In a 2000 point list with him and about 2 monoliths (I say 2 Monoliths because if I use them I never use less) that eats up just over 800 points of the cron players army and only 1200 points worth of models with we'll be back (assuming hes not using Perriahs,Scarabs or Tomb Spiders) so you only need to kill about 900 points worth of guys to phase the Necron player out in a 2000 point game (roughly). With well focused fire and a bit of luck you can knock out 900 points in 2-3 Turns.
I cannot stress this enough, keep your armour (particularly vindicators) away from destroyers. Their sheer volume of S6 shots and gauss rule will easily make a vindicator useless in one turn of shooting.
Long ranged weaponry is the way to go, avoid short ranged fire fights as warriors have more staying power and can easily outshoot you.
I can tell you one thing, rush 2 tac squads w/ power sword, in rhinos towards the 2 warrior squads. Power weapons make it unbelieveably easy to get the wounds you need to cause the necron player to fail his Ld test and you'll sweep him easy.

Skaven still being assembled
Bah, Necrons suck...simple way to destroy the metal behemoths. Land ranged wounds on his Ctan...his 4++ save SUCKS when MANY wounds are landed so Lascannons, heck even the vindi's, etc! Once dead assault his warriors with everything you have Phase out is inevitable once his only TRUE CC beast is gone. Yes destroyers are rough and would be your 2nd target (possibly first depending on how far away the Ctan is).
Playing both Necrons and Marines...with a proper Marine list Necrons don't stand a chance.

here is my idea
vortex of doom 130
missile launcher 150
4x missile launcher
locator beacon 135
devies, scouts, razorback sit on objectives for fire support
assault squad droppod assault termies telly near
them and assault warriors and commander and then the monoliths if the survive the warriors and commander
vindi's and tac squads move up and shoot with every thing they have
critics and changes are welcome
I would drop the devastators to put 2 dreadnaughts. Str10 en close combat is no good for the monoliths. Everything else in the necron army except a nightbringer can not deal with a dread.
