I really would love to start a new army. Iv been thinking Demonhunters. The thing that is holding me back is not knowing if Demonhunters are any good? Like if they are able to win a game against an army that isnt Chaos/Demons? I take it they can hold there own against Chaos/Demons pretty well? But is there any other armys they do well against? I know Grey knights are good from playing them before. But there are very expensive in game points and in money. Are you geting your moneys worth? Say if i wanted to field a 1500pts army. Would i be able to have a strong amount of Grey kights? And in order to have a good Demonhunters army would you have to put some Grey knights in your list? Are they a must?
for me i seem to be leaning over to IST and GKT and LR not much PAGK.
THe best thing about Daemon Hunters is the fluff and the look of the models to me. They are not the high quality competitive play army now, but i think with the way the codecies are flowing they will be a strong contender for top army when the new codex comes out.
I suggest build a small army or proxy and see how you like them... mainly if it is the competitive thing you want then youre probably going to stay away from power armour knights and keep with just the term. IST and LRs
I would be very surprised if you were able to find enough DH models to make an army as things stand at the moment. Every store I've visited are down to their last few blister packs, and the Codex hasn't been available to buy from GW since late February.
Though with the announcement of the second wave of Daemons for August they will need something to fight, so I would be very surprised if DH's weren't getting a new Codex and new models around the same time. If you can hold out for a few months to start an army, I've heard some very good things about our boys in silver
Now is not the time to start a DH army. Most of the stock has been pulled -- including the codex itself! -- and there are strong rumors swirling about a radical new codex coming within the next 12 months.
I'd say wait for now.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

No reason not to buy GKT or PAGK, both are amazing models, and its unlikely they will be replaced, at least not in a fashion that will mean you don't want the old models.
It is hard to find the models though, now, but I always liked them because they are just amazing models.
I find DH to be a fun and challenging army. If you like to play elite armies who are usually outnumbered, then this may be the army for you. It's not an easy army to play but it is still winnable. Both myself and number6 have had success with them. I must emphasize that it is a finesse army and requires a little more strategy than most other armies because every model you lose hurts, but when you win, it is all the more gratifying.
That said, it's ok to purchase the grey knight models. They won't be going away anytime soon, even when GW comes out with an update, they'll still be there. My philosophy is why deprive yourself of the pleasure of experiencing an army by waiting for the "next release". There is always a next release on the horizon. As long as the models are still usable, if you wait, you may as well be waiting forever. But before you buy, play a couple of games using proxies (stand-ins) to see if you like the army first.

Nice post jy2!
As he said there is always another release, and sometimes (unlikely in this case) the newer models don't live up to their past incarnation, and then you miss out!
When it comes to the monetary worth of GKs, they are expensive in both regaurds. A box of 5 PAGKs is $35 right now, but that's around 125-150 points of models. GKTs are $55 for 5 and you're getting around 225-241 points out of it, which would mean in theory you could have a 1000 point army for less than $300. That would get you some GKT, a few squads of PAGKs, and a LR, which in a small enoguh game could do very well. Of course, if you really wanted you could get 2 LRs, 3 Boxes of GKs, and a termie w/psycannon for $235.5, which should be about 1000 points. Not to bad I don't think.

Warmahordes: Legion of Everblight (Absylonia)
GKT there seems to be rumours of new poses but its pretty likely they will supplement the current range not replace it.
