I have a quick question about the crew loadout for the Space Marine Land Speeder Storm. The description states that the Transport Capacity: Five Models (scouts only).
The question is:
1. Can I equip those scouts with options from the scouts in the troops selection?
1.5 If they speeder wrecks can the squad take the HB from the burning wreck?
2. Do I need to take a 5-man squad from my troop FOC to place in the speeder or are they all part of the FA choice? i.e. for the points I get Speeder Storm+5scouts= 1 FA choice.
3. Can Telion be one of the members in the speeder untit?
With 'Ard Boyz round one over I am letting my Nids rest and while I await the new GK codex I thought it would be fun to make a Raven Guard 10th company scout list. This is just for S&G's, something to take to noob night, and practice around 1000pts. This will be my first time playing with the SM codex and I like the idea of the theme.

Yes they can be equipped as normal, they're Scouts.
No you cannot take a gun off a vehicle. You can never do this, off anything, with anything, ever.
No they're Troops and taken from there. The only time a transport occupies the same FoC position is a dedicated transport, like Termies taking a Land Raider.
Yes I believe Telion can join them but he's a shooter sand probably shouldn't.

Its a fantastic model, in addition it never fails to perform. A heavy flamer helps negate the lower BS of the storm, but sometimes I run a multi-melta on it - there is nothing sweeter than an outflanking 65 point model taking out a Land Raider!
I usually tool the 5 scouts up with combat blades and bolt pistols, the Sergeant I give a Power Fist. My friend at my local gaming club gives a couple shotguns, the Sergeant a Power weapon, and they also do very well each game. Every single game they cause havoc. When they're tooled for CC, you get heaps of attacks on the charge, combined with the negative leadership modifier from the Storms Cerberus launchers, you will see quite a few units break in fear from your scouts!

I agree with you wholehearted on the Storms, Draake. I make extensive use of them in my scout lists, using similar tactics.
Another decent tactic to blow up tanks with the Storm is getting first turn, scouting up 24" before the game, than jumping out 2", moving 6" and assaulting 6". That's a huge threat range for a turn one charge. Stick a Meltabomb/Combi-Melta and a Fist on the Sarge, few armies have units that you wouldn't want to do that against. Worst case, you traded a 5 man Scout unit and a Land Speeder for a very important tank or shooting unit.
The Storm is open topped, PoE. That means it can move 12", deploy 2", and the marines can still assault 6" out of it. Like a land raider, but with using a fast skimmer. The grand total is something like a 44" range for the turn 1 assault, if my math is right.
Ah yes quite right. I had forgotten it was Open-Topped, even better. If someone was going to do that I'd prbably grab the MM and a Combi, that way you can pop a transport and charge the guys, very nasty against IG, Tau, Eldar and such.
