Dose the general community allow Imperial Armour items/lists to be taken in normal (friendly) games, sans super-heavies?
This is something that seems to get people upset sometimes. I play an Armoured Battle Group from ForgeWorld and I tend to hear that it is not a fair list and so on. But on the other hand I have never had an issue with anyone taking any list as long as it was from GW or a subsidiary (ForgeWorld). As I see it the purpose of 40k is to have fun so I figure play whats fun...
Depends on the person. I don't have any problem facing IA lists. But then again I run competitive tourney lists and find the IA lists underpowered.

Meh, I'm usually okay with it for a fun game. If I'm playing a campaign (unless the rules were agreed upon beforehand), practicing with my competitive lists, or in a tournament then no, definitely not.
The best thing from IA is you can take Autocannons on the Chimeras
If it is for fun, take 3 bane blades. Otherwise, make sure it's allowed by the rules.
I'd allow it aslong as my opponent said beforehand
I used to run a armoured company for tournaments (junior officer = hq, grenadiers means 2x 5 man twin plasma squads for troops, less than 200 points spent on infantry,) tanks away!

I'd allow it. One of the guys i know uses sisters so we let him use the updated points costs for transports and such.
