I've never read that book, I don't suppose you can post a picture of it?
Without seeing it, there is the possibility that it was a conversion made specifically for that model.
Not sure where it came from but it looks like it could easily be made from the shin guard from a Dreadnought.
That was my thought Azreal. it looks like on of the shin guards of a dreadnought but after having a look at my dread it would have been too big, so its probably a conversion

I think its heresy. Its an odd shape and will severely restrict movement of that arm. Whats the point ? Call in the Inquisition.
