In the inquisitorial army list and in the 40k rule book there are many examples of cherubs. I have no idea what the hell they are because they have no fluff. Are they babies with mechanical wings or something. There are loads in the new 40k book. Can 40k give them no fluff for legal reasons.
I remember somebody asking this question a really long time ago...like when I first got here..appearently there's some Imperial law against making robots that don't have souls...so cherubs are basicly cyborg babies.I think they may even be dead babies with robot parts..I'm not sure which is more disturbing O.o
Same concept as a servo-skull or a servitor. Edicus has it right on - you cannot make a human-like creation without a soul. Back during the dark age of technology, mankind had Men of Iron (basically robots) who served them. This almost led to the downfall of humanity when they rebelled, but the Emperor stepped in during the fighting and made mankind into what we now know. So that's why the Imperium uses bio-robotic creations - they have/had a soul, so are "legal". And yes, Cherubim are basically babies bodies given mechanical components.
Wow... and I thought the 40k universe couldn't get darker...
I wonder if some not-all-there Inquisitor Lords would kill their own newborn children just to have them be personalized cherbubs...
Every whisper of the future from the Warp speaks of a hundred battles lost, a thousand lives devoured and a million enemies born. -- Inquisitor Lord Babel
Seems perfectly reasonable.
