Hi everyone. I play Blood Angels, and I have always enjoyed playing with the more custom aspects. However, with the new codices for space marines and Blood Angels, it's become more challenging. Specifically since I cannot take a 'Chapter Master' HQ for my custom BA Splinter Chapter. And Captains just don't hold out well enough, in my mind. So, I've decided to create my own character for use in friendly games. Let me know what you guys think.
CHAPTER MASTER LUTHEROS CALRAN................................. 250 Points

Armor of Sanguinius: This suit of artificer armor was bestowed upon Lutheros from Dante himself. It grants a 2+ armor save which one failed save may be rerolled once a turn. This also bestows an additional toughness onto Lutheros, however in terms of instant death, he is toughness 4.
Bane: Bane is a master-crafted powersword. Every unsaved wound grants another attack.
Rage Unending: Lutheros Calran and any unit he may have joined may massacre an additional D6".
Lutheros Calran may be equipped with a Jump Pack for an additional 25 points.

The problem with custom guys like this is that you gotta clear them with whoever your fighting to be able to use them...and it's highly doubtful any tournament organisers will let you play them.
My suggestions are to either use Dante, Seth, or Tycho as a "counts as" model for your own chapter master, or just take a regular Captain and pimp him out. My suggestion is to give him a jump pack and a pair for lightning claws. He'll be quite mobile, almost always hitting on a 3+, rerolling all failed wounds and striking at initiative 5.
watchwoods advice seems sound to me. I'd keep the "special" characters for fluff. In my DIY chapter, i think of the Telion model as the captain of my scout company, not the veteran sergeant from the codex, but i could'nt play him as a HQ choice.
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.

seems a bit cheap for all that. id drop initive to 5 as it would be a bit high with furious charge.the armour id say make it toughnes 4(5) or the reroll, allso if the reroll clarify if that includes the ability on inv saves. Bne seems nice but bit too nice combined with the extra consoldation move that he likely will get. also red thirst is pretty pointless as he has furious charge...
