How do I gear a Librarian?

    Good morning.

I would like to hear suggestions on how to best equip a librarian.

I play games from 750 to 2000 points.

I have an Imperial Fists force and a codex chapter force of my own making.

    Thanks in advance.

I always run mine in termi armour so that i can use the large S10 HEAVY template.
If you plan on making yours assulty then dont go with that choice.

I always give mine a Storm Shield when I'm playing Vanilla. I seem to roll an uncanny amount of 2's and 12's.

I don't...I take an OH inquisitor lady instead for a table-wide LD10 PH, purgatus, and hammer of witches.

Pretty much for the odd moments when that Carnifex (or whatever) has to die now, and he's the only guy around that can do the job - the total lack of an invulnerable save makes our poor Librarians awfully squishy when they're up against any decent force weapon targets.

I like to keep him cheap. He's there as a support unit. I switch between giving him nothing (and attaching him to a unit) and just giving him a termy armour (for drop pod or in a LR).

Considering that many of his abilities have short ranges, another option is to give him a storm shield and a bike. He will have relentless to fire vortex of doom and move 12" if shooting and 24" if not shooting. If you already have more decent unit to accompany with him, terminator might be better; however, I personally like fast armies and I attach him to Bike squads as they have similar range and same speed.
