what do you think about a maxed out squad of fagk with a relic? DS in and shoot hope to get charged (true grit) so you dont move, then unleash the HR for some surprise kick.
justicar with holy relic + mc nfw
i use a gk light force, only a squad (or 2) and a bc +inq and st+dca+assasin.
The idea works, and the holy relic has saved my butt even at its cost. A DS team that had its numbers cut in half when everyone and their mother shot at them would have add a surprise punch.
I thinks its best use is when you need to assault a squad or character you don't want assaulting back. Anything strong with a low initiative. Power glove termies, big baddies, etc. You hit them with an assault wave and additional attacks from the HR, then you also get the new 2" assault rule. Very little could survive at all, or at the very least stike back.
Personally I have yet to field it lately, just too costly, maybe I should do it some more.
the problem is that it works better if your assaulted because it can only be moved if the model holding it has not moved. the faster it goes off the more effective. the key would be to ds them in front of a jucy assaulty unit to try and lure them in-then BAM- more trouble than they barganed for.
you're right, I forgot about the movement.
That brings up a thought. If you deep strike you are considered moved for the turn. In the opponents turn are you still considered moved, or since obviously you can't move in their turn you are now free to use the relic.
I would think you are considered moved and can't use the relic until it's your turn and you do not move the model, not in the oppoenents turn since it's still considered the same round.
What's your thoughts on that.
doh! thats a very good observation....ill need to look in to that. if its rue then it might be worthless to use a hr on all but the most durable units....
