I am not sure this is in the right place, probably not, but it doesn't matter. Feedback is feedback. I am thinking of selling my 40K lot, and I am not sure how much I think it would be worth. I will give you all the list and you guys get back to me on how much you think it is worth. And here is the list:
45 Catachan Guardsem (painted)
1 Imperial Guard Sentinel (painted)
1 Imperial Guard Basilisk (painted)
1 Space Marine Battleforce (partially painted)
1 Catachan Command Squad (partially painted)
10 Cadian Shock Troops (partially painted)
10 Catachan Jungle Fighters (unopened in box)
1 Fifth Edition Imperial Guard Codex
and there it is. Let me know what you guys think.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
I would say you could $200 maximum (if the painted ones look really good) $100 minimum.
I sold my professionally painted 4000 point space marine army for $800 on eBay.
I WANNA GET STUCK IN WIT DA BOYZ
Put it on LObay (its a new section near the top.) and post a few pictures and ask for offers. an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
yes, pictures are definitely required when you're contemplating the sale/purchase of a painted or partially painted army. If a potential buyer is adding to an existing force, he'll want even decently well painted minis to reasonably match what he already has. If he's buying your force as a start to a new army, he'll want the paint scheme to be something that he likes and thinks he can emulate. In either case, he'll want the paint job to be at least as good as he thinks he can do, or else the painted models are worth a lot less to him than if they were merely primed, or better yet, unopened.
Also, consider listing the space marines separately for sure, and maybe the cadians, as well. You don't want the hassle of selling your models off in small lots, since you may find that nobody wants the command squad, the bassie, the book, whatever. At the same time, someone who is starting or expanding catachans won't be willing to pay much for the space marines or, to a lesser extent, the cadians (at least they're from the same codex!)
