I'm planning on starting an Imperial Guard army sometime soon and I've come up with three ideas.
The first is using Cadians with Pig Iron heads, probably the winter militia ones for regular infantry.
The second is a Japanese style army, probably using the minis from the Perry brothers range as a base, Normal infantry would be most likely made up of Arquebusiers with lasguns.
The third idea is a squat army, using Dwarf Quarrellers with lasguns for infantry.
Out of these three ideas I'm not sure which one to go for, what one do you think?
I would use your first idea. The problem with using figures from a samurai range is that they are too recognisable as being samurai with lasguns stuck on. If you want scifi with a samurai flavour check out the TRIAD range in the game URBAN WAR.

sounds like the samurai are the most popular suggestion, but also the most difficult one to "do right." As long as you don't do squats.
