title says it, is it viable, where is a good place to start?
There are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who cannot.
The Ravenwing box set, six bikes, an attack bike and a landspeeder with loads of spare dark angels bits, excellent value compared to buying them individually. Until the dark angels get a new codex your best bet is probably using the vanilla codex. If your captain is on a bike, other bike squads of five plus models count as troops.
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
DA Ravenwing gets all the special rules, nice fluff and the feeling of being the underdog.
Vanilla biker armies get cheaper things and any paint scheme that you want. And the Storm Shield Choose wisely
DA Deathwing/Ravenwing is the major viable build in that codex. If you're going for a pure bikers force, use the vanilla codex (and a paint job of your choice).
Sadly, C:UM has better rules for an all-bike army. The only real bennies to ravenwing are:
1. They're all fearless
2. Flying land raider or jetbike with plasma cannon...I wish all my tough choices were so delicious!
3. (in the attack squadrons only) scoring land speeder!

Also dont forget Sammael in a speeder is awesome. av 14 on front and sides with twin linked hb and twin linked ass cannon he chews through infantry and transports. I play ravenwing primarily for the fluff but also because i like adding terminators and running dualwing from time to time.
