ok - i had a game against Elder and their farseer kept making me take a leadership test everytime my ork wierdboy used his Physic power (which is every turn) so when i then played him with my SM which had a Librarian (both battles on same day and list already made) i tried to reduce the ammount i used his powers
Now first he kept making me role 3 dice added together which funny enough i passed more on my LD7 ork than i did on my LD 10 lib.
Now if i failed i took a wound and couldn't use the power or something like that.
Now when it was his turn he just took a normal LD test.
I assume this was normal but what i wanted to know was: i hear of phys vs phys battles where people say take a librarian to counter his farseer. But how does it counter him ???
I've used the Lib loads but never had a phy vs phy battle.
thanks - sorry for rambling.

All librarians come with a psychic hood that lets them block any psychic power cast by a model within 24". That's the most common way to use psyker vs psyker tac. The psychic hood doesn't count towards your normal power limit, you can use it each time an enemy attampts to ust a psychic power within range.
Eldar farseers have an ability called "Runes of Warding" that makes enemy psykers take psychic tests on 3d6 instead of 2d6.
Under normal circumstances, you'd still have to take a leadership (pyschic) test everytime you use a psychic power.
Additionally, the farseer makes his tests on 3d6 and MUST pick the lowest (so if a 1,1,2 came up, he'd still take a perils of the warp wound).

Weirdboys are subject to the mob rule for the record, put them in a mob of 10 and he becomes LD 10.

Runes of warding is an upgrade for the Farseer.
Yeah, that's how I would see it. Certainly makes for a handy upgrade for the Eldar, not so much for the mon-keigh .
If your trying to snuff the Farseer, you might have more luck running up and punching it (even with a librarian)... it will make it cry
Use your psychic hood to stop some of the farseers powers.
Try and use null zone to make the farseer reroll succesful invulnerables (he has no armour unless hes on a bike).
Use as much S6 weaponry against him as possible, then he'll die.
Runes of warding makes enemy psykers take psychic tests on 3D6 and any result of a 12 or more suffers a peril of the warp.
Runes of witnessing makes an Eldar farseer to take his tests on 3D6 and choose the lowest two.
Psychic hood makes enemy pyskers within 24" have a D6+ their leadership war against you.
A psy vs psy war normally consists of the psykers blocking each others powers, rather than using them to ahnihalate each other.
Hope this helps.
i hear of phys vs phys battles where people say take a librarian to counter his farseer. But how does it counter him ???
The only two counters are these:
1- kill the farseer
2- have your librarian within 24" of the farseer and attempt to "dispel" each of his psychic powers using the rules stated in the space marine codex where it describes psychic hoods.
As long as the farseer is alive, his Runes of Warding will always force you to roll extra dice on your psychic tests and you can not stop that.
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
