As I am coming close to completing my first army of vanilla marines (~2500 pts) the thought of a second army has sprung up. Should I try something new, like Necrons...Tau...nahhhh. I really don't think that will happen anytime soon.
However the idea of a completely different SM army sounds jjjjjjjust right. The reasoning is that I love how organized and efficient they are, plus there are so many variants that no army is truely the same. The new models that are coming out like special characters, veterans, command squad, commander, etc look awesome plus there are all of Forge World's models which boggle the mind.
My next army will be....too amny to choose, argh!!!
- Deathwing sounds like a must since the new plastic termis will be out and I just love termis even though everyone thinks they are a points sink.
- A DA descendant (I find DA themselves to be too trendy) would also be cool since they have a lot of cloaky guys and with the new veterans and command squad, this would be a pretty awesome force to look at.
- Imperial Fists would be cool to do as well and have the most insane shooty/ordanince/guns army with nothing but power armour, whirlwinds, and footsoilders armed to the teeth.
- Lastly would be a fast army: LS, assult squads, bikes, scouts etc. This would be like playing with a scout army and speed; on speed; while speeding.
But the army that would be the coolest to make would be one that revolves around some rediclous Forge World model. A Thunderhawk...rediculous dreds...drop pods...
So there you have it, I am going to play SM 4 life. Sorry if I didn't mention your army, that means you Wolves and BA; I find those guys too gimmicky but I know that they are no ones biatch when it comes to war.
I all comes down to what to buy next...and well I just don't know yet. Maybe I'll win the lotto and can buy them all while I sit in my castle, painting, while on speed...
...and you will know my name is the lord, when I strike down my vengence upon thee...

Dude..Raven Guard sucessor all the way. They specialise in infiltration-type missions. They're like ninjas in power armour, dropping out of Thunderhawks and Drop Pods would be pefrect for them.Plus they're a very rare chapter. They are pretty assault heavy though.
Yay Ravenguard yay i vote for them (not biast though, well maybe a little bit)
They are really cool hence i play them they have a wickid new commander coming out LC command squads JP command squads, what more do you need
Did i mention they are really cool and criminally unheard off by pretty much everybody else So join Coraxs legion you know you want to
p.s join ravenguard
And thats my sales pitch over
We strike like lightning, fast and deadly
In the shadows you will only find death
If you have trouble with deciding which chapter to play then try a crusading army. In Codex: Ultramarines (2nd ed, ye olde codex) there is a description of Space Marine crusades. The high lords of terra announces a crusade against a world or a system and chapters contribute small forces, just a few squads. That way you can have several chapters in the same army. You'd have to play it as a codex army though.
you could play a death watch style army, with kill teams and zenos fighters. plus you get a great challenge.
YES! POWER TO THE SMs!
Instead of just choosing an army that already exists, why not just make your own chapter??
You would have more control over the aspects and history of it...I love writing fluff so thats a plus for me...
But if you really want to choose one I'd probly go with an obscure chapter like Iron Hands lol...
Oh yes...VIVE LE CANADIENS!
