I was just wondering.... Are Vanilla marines boring to play against, look at, and in general a dumb force for newbs? Because I started them a while ago when I started to play. And I have a pretty big force, 3 HQ, 2 ELITES, 4 TROOPS, 2 FAST ATTACK, 2 HEAVY SUPPORT. And I was wondering because I don't play them much anymore, are they boring to play? Because with the new models coming out wich I love, do you think it's smart to finish this section. (1 more elite, 2 more troops, 1 more fast attack, 1 more heavy support.) and have a fresh section to start with all the new models?

Ok thanks.

There not boring but there not complex, there the perfect newb army. I don't think the armies are boring i just think there are so many of these kinds of armies out there that people just don't take the time to acknoweldge the work and effort put into some of them.

Hmmm... Good point, I was thinking of making it huge, maybe half the size of the army in the SM codex. Maybe even make Marnues Calgar make an apperence.

Vanilla marines are make up some of the most interesting armies in the game!!! I say this because, they are possibly the most customizable, and with the new rules coming out, armies will get even more interesting. ^_^

No! They're not boring!

It's rather the other chapters that are boring (BT, SW, DA...), because they're more common and much better (easier to use). So I'd say more vanilla marines!

With the new codex coming out my nilla SMs will only get better.
They're based on the FFL as it was in 1863 Mexico and Dien Bien Phu.
They are gonna be some real stubborn dudes.
If you want fluff for my army then read whatever you can on the FFL including Beau Geste

Vanilla Marines are great. They are unmatched in tactical flexibility.

Vanilla marines are good to play with because you make the army beard in any amount of ponts.

but to play against them is so boring.

i.e my mate does a vanilla marine army:

1 Leader (cheapest guy there is)

5 man unit lascannon

5 man unit lascannon

5 man unit lascannon

5 man unit lascannon

5 man unit Heavy Bolters

5 man unit Heavy Bolters

5 man devastator squad - 4 plasma cannons

5 man devastator squad - 4 plasma cannons

The army is so boring to play but so beardy
