    Blood Red

    Hey guys,

im thinking of doing some normal BA to go alongside my own Blood Scythes and was interesting in speed painting methods.

iv been on Google and found one that comes up often.

Army painter red, followed by a dip of "strong tone"

now im happy with the red but i dont like the look the strong tone gives, im not sure what wash i should go for, Devlan or Black?

im thinking of using the army painter red for the base, then a wash then painiting the details, any tips or suggestions?

I painted some chaos marines a similar red to bleed angels, you paint them mechrite red, then dry brush them blood red, and then apply a baal red wash on them. if you want them lighter you can dry brush a more orange colour on them as well.

The techniques will be the same no matter what unit you're painting with Blood Red, and you're better off asking people who care about painting than those who are interested in rules/techniques.

I will help you out with this one! I actually use the Army Painter Pure Red for my Blood Angels, I then use Badab Black to wash them and I think they look great....there is no difference between blood red and the pure red from army painter. Highlight with Blazing Orange and poof, instant BA. The citadel spray gun is way to inconsistent, IMO, as you have to mix your own paint every time you want to use it.

this will probably get moved but oh well. Hope this helps!
