Less than a week till its at my door... anyone else anxiously awaiting its arrival and do you think it will be good?
I've ordered the Collectors Edition.. Can not wait to watch this bad boy. I'm holding up mediocre hopes, in order to get my socks blown off when it hopefully surprises me!!
Ordered the collectors edition too, although I dont remember an option not to. I'm sure it'l be ok after a few lagers, when the wife has gone to bed.
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
This is the first 40k movie, it needs to make a profit if GW are going to make more. If this movie is a success it'll open the door for future 40k movies.
Even if it does turn out a bit weak, hey, it's GW's first movie, they've got to make their bones somewhere. If the movie is a success we could see a whole range of movies from the different 40k races. Hell, if the movies turn out to be a big money maker it could allow expansion in other areas.
Just think about it..... Updated versions of all the out of date codices, a new line of models, CHEAPER MODELS, maybe we'll see some of those new races that have been on the shelf finally get put into development. And so much more.
I just don't like to watch poor movies from my favourite fandoms - I can't bring myself to watch the DbZ movie, even though it only cost £4 in Tesco. I just can't.
If you lot tell me it's good, THEN I'll buy it. The problem with your idea Skydog is that if it's poor but sells well, GW might decide they don't need to try any harder!
Ive read a review of it and the guy said that the film is pretty good for a 9 million pound budget, some parts have been rendered better than others (due to budgetory reasons), it seems a bit slow to begin with but there are some good battle scenes etc etc. Overall the guy was pleased with the film.
It's a bit like what i said about the last Mr Bean film, if you go expecting a masterpiece of cinema then you will be disappointed, but if you go expecting to see a Mr Bean film then you will enjoy it. The same can be said with this film, if you watch it expecting it to be Avatar then well you're buggered, lol.
Yeah, fair point. My thoughts are- Good or bad, if it fails to bring in enough cash to justafy more movies.... That's it, no more movies. Even if it's bad, as long as it makes money we can get more movies, if it is bad I'm shure there'll be no shortage of feed back in the form of pissed off fans complaining. The problem with your idea Skydog is that if it's poor but sells well, GW might decide they don't need to try any harder!
With any luck, even if the first one is bad, future movies will get the benefit of the lessons learned on the first and a bigger budget.
Ofcourse, it's up to you how you want to spend your time and money, that's just my thoughts on the subject.
Having said all that, I've actuley heard good things about it, I've got my hopes up that it'll be good.
I Hope its good, but am keeping my hope low so that it blow me away. Maybe in a couple years they could do a live action movie, probably be smurfs vs Nids battle for Macragge, all starhsip troopers (the first one) style.
I am really hoping this inst another flop like um...The Last Airbender, though this movie is much smaller, i was SEVERLY disappinted with that one b/c I had so much anticiaption for it.
