So my friends and I are considering letting some Imperial Armor stuff into our games, and one of the things I noticed was an option to put some autocannons on my chimeras. While my initial reaction was to squeal with glee, I noticed the point cost. At 15 points, it seems a bit expensive, especially when you consider that to upgrade a sentinel from a multilaser to an autocannon costs 5 points. This seems especially expensive when you consider the BS of 3 on a chimera. So what do you all think? Has anyone tried playing with them? Worth it?
They are 5 points in the updated points costings e.g.:
5 points is a steal
I'd still consider it at 15 though because it means the Chimeras are more capable of helping out de-meching your opponent.
Copy, Improve, Innovate
I'd pay it in a heartbeat. Str 7 and ap4 is worth sacrificing an extra shot, especially in the qty. that I field chimeras (8 ish). There would be a sea of broken rhinos hehe.
Praise the Emperor and pass the promethium!
Oh hell yes, I would love it if chimeras could take autocannons in the codex.
At 5pts I'd do it, Autocannons are freakin scary!
Also, of equal importance, autocannons sound cooler when you make gun noises as you roll your to hit die!
