The best advise I've had is that use the Grandmaster in heavy point games and the Inquisitor in others.
I'd have my Inquisitor on a transport certainly, although still unsure about getting a Land Raider..
Also I thought only an Inquisitor can have a Daemon Hammer?

People should be taught what is, not what should be.
Grey Knights can indeed get Daemonhammers, but you can only have one per army. That is a pretty impressive combo, I may have to use that myself, but so expensive - a lucky battle cannon shot could still make that GM a smear on the ground, IMHO. Have you posted the rest of this list? What do you use to fight non-daemon-heavy armies?
I have found that a nemesis force weapon can destroy a daemon just as easily, it also gives you an advantage over everything else as you can fight in initiative order.
I would given an inquisitor the daemonhammer instead, while the hammer is allowed for grandmasters i think it is a bit unfluffly as the traditional grey knight weapon has been the nemesis force weapon for 10,000 years.
