So I have been reading a lot of army lists and I am seeing some conflicting points.
For a lascannon Heavy Weapon Squad.
In the Codex:
Composition: 3 Heavy Weapons Teams
Options: Any Heavy Weapons TEAM may exchange its mortar for a...
So I have been figuring it at the Lascannon total x3 for how much my squad is. Is this wrong because I just saw a list where it was the base x1 for lascannon. Sorry can't post points total so I hope I didn't confuse you.
Armies: 40k: Imperial Guard, Orks Fantasy: Skaven
If you take a HWS you have to pay to upgrade EACH gun. So it will be the the cost of a HWS [60pts] then 20pts for each Lascannon so [60pts] fo 120pts total.
I did pull those points out my hat by the way.
To be honest Lascannons HWS are a tad expensive so you might just be better off taking them in Infantry squads who have access to Vox and a LD8 sergeant. Anyway, thats a whole other conversation.
Which, considering that you can get 3 twin-linked lascannons on an AV12, scouting, troop-carrying, skimmer for 130, seems like a bit much. The only real advantage is that you can spam as many as you want in the troop category, without tying up your FA and HS slots.
But then you have to take a Lord Commissar to babysit them, negating much of the cost advantage.
