Hi guys, I just had a 'breaking glass' moment:
If a librarian causes a wound with his force weapon, can his psychic hood nullify the opponent's psychic test to survive instant death?
The closest topic I found dealt with force weapons VS psychic hoods: http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...chic-hood.html (Force Weapon vs Psychic hood)
I assume it would, and make the librarian a beasty MC or character killer (especially if some scouts assaulted the same unit via a Storm to lower their Ld!) - but I've also heard arguments that the force hood only dealt with enemy psykers.
First off, the Force Weapon's effect of Instant Death is a psychic power used in the assault phase....so yes, but only if he's still able to cast powers that turn.
Also, it's the Librarian using the power that makes the leadership test for ID, not the guy who might be suffering it. Keep that in mind.
The librarian takes the test to insta kill the guy, but if there is another librarian on the field then I assume he can use his hood to defend against the librarian insta killing his friend, can anyone confirm this for me?
If he's within range, then he can use his force hood on the power like he could on any other power, yes.
Yup - Just having that Force hood can make librarians worth it against some armies.
