I am not much of a "green stuffite" so I was wondering I have gotten some MG and PG from a SM player who does not use them...but whats the best way to attach them (what hands)? Do i have to gut a lasgun off a hand then green stuff it or is there an easier way? Thanks.

There are a few things ypu can do.
1) you can cut a lasgun out of its normal arms and add a melta or plasmagun.
2) You can use a flamer or grenade launcher arm and add them in that way.
3) You can put it somewhere else on the model, like strapped to a shoulder of you have some spare plasticard, cardboard, guitar wire or something similar.
If you do end up using the lasgun arms you'll find that the one that hold the gun lower on the body are better than having the guy aiming the gun as if looking down the sight. Trust me on this.

Depending on what guard kits you are using, I'd recommend using the arm sets that come with the grenade launchers and flamers. You'll only need to do some clipping/ cutting/ filing to remove the original weapon and it'll fit a lot better than if you'd cut up a lasgun, especialy with the cadian kit.
If you're using Catachan mini's, I believe there is only one arm set that is unsuitable for special weapons. The rest are fine.

Yep, Grenade Launcher is a good choice to clip and convert (SM guns are the same size, you may want to remove the shoulder brace on your plasma guns - depends on your taste.) Another good one is the pointing arm off the HW sprue (and either the gripping hand - same sprue or ONE lasgun on the infantry sprue has a "cupped" hand you can rest a gun in as he points / does stuff with his other hand)
i'd recommend the grenade launcher over the flamer as it has a strap on the right shoulder.

I'll third the notion of using the special weapon arms. As said earlier, you may need to remove the shoulder brace, but if you want to keep it on, you can cut through the poor guys elbow to lengthen the arm a bit, then fill it in with GS.
