Okay, recently our little group of gamers has had a new addition and our new player has started to collect the Dark Templars.
We have come across a little debate and I would like you guys to help out if you'd be so kind. So heres the question.
Can the Emporers champion take more than one vow?
The rules says the emporers champion MUST take one vow but we can not find anything that says that he can't take more than one. We went with this and after fighting the army that had multiple vows I was pretty much OMFG. Pardon the language. It took everything I had to make the match end in a draw but it was a close damn thing, with the list I had used, if I had gone up against any other army that had the same basic units in it that my opponent did I should have wiped the floor with him with out breaking so much as a sweat but the multiple vows used made my list pretty much redundant and it was no mean feat to pull it back to a draw.
Can the Emperors champion have more than one vow and if not where does it say it? I have looked through the codex, I have checked the FAQs so unless I have missed it I cant find anything that limits them.
No. It's pretty clear cut. Must take 1 vow =/= 2 or more vows. Otherwise, it would say "must take at least 1 vow..."
Record: Win - Loss - Draw: Hive Fleet Pandora (New) 32-6-6 Space Wolf 7th Co. 52-11-6
Blood Angels 12-4-2 Daemonhunters 20-8-3
Imperial Guards 12-5-2 Daemons 8-3-2
I play Black Templars. Our champ can take only 1 vow. For me the best to take is "preffered Enemy" It's awsome to reroll the dice. I like playing CC templars. Rhinos, Razorbacks and Land Raiders are in my list and I love assault marines and bikes
Now GW posted some FAQs and updates for us.
