Hello, im considering collecting a general size blood angel army. Looking at 1850.
I only have 1 thing so far a box of sanguinary guard. I got them because they look so pretty.
I have been reading over the codex.
I haven't made any lists yet but im thinking id like to include these units in the list:
Furioso (either librarian or not)
3x Assault squads
Vindys or preds
Im undecided on the HQ selection.
I was thinking of stuffing the dreadnaught and sang guard in the storm raven.
i was thinking 1 TL AC/Heavy bolters and 1 flamestorm/heavy flamers for the baals
either a vindy or pred with AC/LC sponsons
Priests attached to assault squads
Undecided how many i want to have rides and how many i want to be jumping.
Im also interested in taking some death company with bolters.
Anyway, what do you guys think? How do you BA veterens usually field your tournament lists?

Eldar -APOC- 6500 Points
Chaos Daemons -Fate Crusher- 3500 Points
Grey knights - 1000 Points
Basics of Blood Angels are that they are assaulty, fast and end up paying more points per model as a result. So you need to prepare to be outnumbered against MEQs and use your speed to put everything you can against one target at a time and win the fights before the enemy can react (which would mean on charge, preferably).
Thus I'd either put everything on ground transports or everything on jump packs, but not mix them. If you put everything on Rhinos you end up being a bit slower (since you can't assault out of moving Rhinos), so with Rhinos steer clear of expensive units and get your numbers up. With jump packs you can move more easily from assault to assault so you can go more for quality instead of quantity.
Revenant Moon Necrons: (W/L/D) 0/1/0 (6th edition: 13/2/2)(5th edition: 14/6/4)(3rd edition Codex: 16/4/7)
XIX Legion: (W/L/D) 0/0/0 (5th edition: 14/12/2)(5th edition Codex: 4/3/0)
Black Legion: (W/L/D) 1/0/0 (6th edition: 2/3/0)
Something Wicked... Reikwald Beastmen: (W/L/D) 10/4/1
I'm a brand new BA player too so my choices might not be good... I don't know. For HQ I bought Mephiston and the Sanguinor. I repainted a dread and a Termie Chaplain on the weekend and I'm working on converting a tac squad and assault squad from my Scars right now. The rest I'll get when the Raven and furiosos arrive.
Geez, the tac squad, assault squad, Chaplain, dread and 2 HQs are already over 1200, but thats because I started with HQs.
before the rest, lol.
Oh ya and a droppod is being repainted now too and is included in that number. l'm shooting for 2000pts

Drop pods are good for dreads or sternguard but I'd never put an assault unit in one. Mass jump packs are the way to go imo - it's a hell of a lot more difficult for the enemy to slow you down. A slow Blood Angel army is a bit of an oxymoron.
I'm adding a furioso and and a furioso librarian when they come out for 3 dreads total. Two will go in the 2 ravens and 1 in the droppod. But this is all still hypothetical still as I just started my BAs and haven't played with them yet.
Hey, I'm starting BA too! I like furisio librarians with shield of sanguinius and wings of sanguinius. Suddenly you have a dreadnought that moves 12" basic and has a cover save, with a force weapon, for a reasonable 175 points. Not bad, eh? 3 Baal Predators with full flame setup outflanking. Very funny as your opponents MEQ struggle against 3 templates that ignore their armour and another 6 HF templates. Sanguinary priests are a must, as are libbys with shield of sanguinius, as with an elite army like this you need as much protection as you can get. My 1500 point list, for instance, is this:
Librarian w/jump pack
Shield and sword of sanguinius
3 full assault squads with 2 meltaguns, a power fist and meltabombs each
3 full flame ball predators
3 sanguinary priests with jump packs, one with a combi-melta
This list suddenly becomes very tough when you realise all models have FC and FnP, and can aquire a decent cover save. Pretty nasty. Then at 2000 points, just add the previously mentioned libby furisio for 175 points, another 10 man double melta powerfist and meltabomb assault squad for 240, and another jump-pack combi-melta priest for 85. 2000 points right there. But anyway, we're going off topic. If you want army list advice, pop it into the army list forum. But the 3 units I would suggest are the libby dread, the priest and the double melta assault squad.

I love BA Dreadnoughts, but the Furioso Librarian is actually my least favorite of the 3. Biggest reason is Blood Talons, he can't take them. My personal favorite is the DC Dreadnought, one less WS than Furioso but he gets one more attack, Furious Charge, Fleet, and ignores "crew shaken" and "crew stunned" results. All for a measly 125 points. The Rage rule is actually pretty easy to circumvent with the proper use of a Stormraven, it being an assault vehicle and all.
