How many weapons does this unit have?
Honestly, it should say in the rules entry of the codex that you're buying it in. 2 Hurricane Bolters, an Assault Cannon, and generally a Multimelta.
TL AC, two hurracaine bolters, and options for multi-melta, storm bolter and HK missile.
The points for each option is in the codex. If you don't have a codex, get one because you just can't do without it...
Vanilla Marines, Blood Angels... which chapter? Options and points should be the same, just curious.

How do people rate these? I don't usually take them, as my LRs are usually used to bomb forward and deliver shock troops but I can see how they'd be useful against hordes. I tend to discount S5 or lower weapons on my tanks, as I predominately have infantry to deal with their counterparts.
They're not bad, actually. The TLAC and MM are both good for coring transports, and the Hurricane Bolters will generally at least put a dent in whatever your guys inside are about to charge.
Don't forget the assault launchers. The assault launchers are great for delivering your lightning claw terminators (if you take them) to enemies in cover. I have found the hurricane bolters effective against a lot of enemies, especially MEQ. The TL Assault Cannon is awesome, especially against higher toughness enemies. It is a great transport. Honestly, the standard Land Raider is kinda a waste. The two lascannons can only be fired if the tank is stationary or moves 6". If there are troops in the land raider, it seems counter-intuitive for it to only move 6".
Well I play necrons, and don't actually plan to buy the Space Wolves codex But, I didn't wanna be clueless as to how the weapon count added up. My friend said it totaled 7, smoke launcher, grenade launcher, lascannon, twin linked storm bolters (I believe), and two other hatch weapons up top. I wondered mostly if the Left and Right Sponsons were independent or counted as 1 weapon ...
Nope, the smoke and grenade launchers are wargear. They only get destroyed when the vehicle does. And Sponsons count as separate weapons, unless explicitely stated otherwise somewhere.

As frag assault launcher, smoke launcher and searchlight are not weapons the Crusader has a minimum of three and maximum of six weapons depending on the setup.
