Going up against nurgle soon and I need some ideas cause I've never faced them
T5 is their main advantage and it's going to be tough to get bolter shots through that;/
And I'm 99% certain he'll have a manreaper on his flying commander ;/
Going Puritan would mean i get nemesis weapons but I've got a feeling he'll out shoot me...
Anyway... any tips on army consruction vs Nurgle?
And anything I should look out for?
Daemonhunters against Deathguard is simple. They've got T5, but that doesn't make any difference against plasma weapons, battlecannons or earthshaker cannons.
Only their vehicles are allowed to have heavy weapons, therefore Deathguard players usually max out on assault weapons. This means he'll want to get close to you, and his only way of approaching you quickly is by using rhinos.
So what you've got to do is clear:
Sit back and shoot at his troops with Ordnance from your tanks and plasma from IG veteran squads, and shoot at his rhinos with lascannons from your IG infantry squads. Some of his stuff will probably reach your lines, this is why you have a squad of grey knights to chop them up in closecombat. Grey Knights, with their high strenght, are ideal in close combat against Death Guard. Keep the grey knights in a central position so that they can reach both parts of the battlefield. You never know where those daemons are going to show up..
One thing you've got to watch especially out for against Death Guard is their Havoc squads, some times they rush out of a rhino with four plasmaguns(goodbye grey knights)! So smashing the rhinos early is the most important thing.
Ave Dominus Nox!
Is this for ALL nurgle based armies or just the Deathguard? :/
Grey Knights means I cant use Deamonhosts ;/
but I guess a Termy-clad GK squadron would make up for that
No, I only thought about Death guard...
You're going to fight Lost and The Damned?
Hmm... It's going to be a mix between IG and Death Guard then, with lots of models to soak up fire, and probably several tanks as well. The lost and the damned are the bad guy version of the Daemonhunters and Witchhunters.. Just like you, they've got lots of stuff to chose from... I'd say flexibility is the key...
And grey knights in Terminator armour is seldomly worth it.. They're just as easy to kill with tanks and plasma..
Ave Dominus Nox!
You will be wounding on 3s In H2H and shooting twice at the 24" mark. He will not be out shooting you if you take psycannons. I would soften him up as he advanced and get the charge before he did. GNs on the charge are everyones worst nightmare.
