I am about to start blood angels after collecting 4400 pts of orks. The question is basically in the title. Which is a better starting point for a BAa army. I have a basic idea of what i want in my army and you can see that here
So what do you think ?
I'd go with the battleforce, as the models in there are a touch more customisable - AoBR doesn't give much room for individuality.
Plus the models will be more useful for BA imo, whatever your list ends up like

A note on AOBR...
Both the dreadnought and the terminators from AOBR can be swapped around with arms from other kits. The marines and captain require cutting and greenstuff to do the same, so really aren't the best for "modifying".
You can sometimes get the dreadnought and terminators for around 30 shipped on ebay, which is a pretty stellar deal.
Combine with an actual boxed set of something like a venerable dread, or assault terminators, and you've got one heck of a setup.
The nice thing about this hobby, is that GW tends to give lots of extra bitz in their actual boxed sets. Overtime you end up with so many extra bitz, you can make pretty much any model you want...in those situations, AOBR can be pretty fantastic.
You can often get AoBR terminators for about £2 each on bitz websites. An assault terminator kit has 5x lightning claws and 5x TH/SS, so for an extra £10 that's five extra terminators!
By another note...if you get the AOBR terminators, you can also buy the heavy weapon bitz you want seperately for a few more dollars. Basically getting 50-75% off the cost of the actual terminator box.
