Hi, I've never quite understood why tactical marines don't have to pay for some of their special weapons so if anyone could enlighten me on why we don't have to pay but our Chaos counter-parts do, that would be great thank you.
We have a newer, better Codex.
That doesn't explain anything, plus I've seen Chaos armies table Space Marine armies many times....
It's the whole explanation, really. Go look at current 5th ed codexes in comparison to their older equivalents. You'll notice a visible trend towards making things cheaper, and handing out small freebies like frag and krak grenades.
It's not something that's insurmountable by player skill. A good player will generally trash a bad player either way, and an optimized list is always better then a bunch of random units.
Also, we *do* play a dice game. Sometimes dumb luck just decides to up and get involved.
Chaos get a Chainsword and are Ld10 I believe. And they're cheaper.
Normal marines get ATSKNF and Combat Tactics. No icons though.
And Chaos get a choice of 5 different troops. Sure people only ever use 3 of them, but it's still more than just Tacticals and Scouts.
Wolves are even cheeper, get a chainsword, ATSKNF, counter attack, acute senses...go complain about them instead
Ok thats kinda cleared it up for me, I thought it was something to do with background like Chaos could produce less weapons then Space Marines because they live in the warp and i'm not complaining I was just confused if I was complaining I play Chaos too but i'm happy with the points and stuff, I was just confused but I can kinda understand the difference in points, equipment, upgrades etc now
