With all this Grey knights stuff, does any body know if they are going to make them? Or do I have to break down and buy the FW gas masks?
There's been rumors of plastic Stormtroopers for a long time. But I haven't heard a thing about them in association with the Grey Knight codex. To tell the truth, the codex doesn't really have a place for them. Sure, you can put the BS3 henchmen in carapace armor and give them HS-Lasguns for 13 points each, but what would be the point? That's too much to spend on BS3 troops, and there are lots of better henchmen options to spend the points on.

Does the Joekaro still get the boost to armour saves? I was thinking they could boost their BS but going by the pdf I was wrong. Still that possibility of guardsmen with 2+ armour saves is pretty sweet.
The henchmen seem like a much too diverse set of troops to do a plastics set though, you'd have so many leftovers it wouldn't make sense. I think they'll have some metals for the exotic units and expect people to do conversions for the rest.
edit: am I reading this right? 10 point plasma? The chance of 24 inch range melta? Wow! - this squad is obscene!

Henchmen will come down to just a handful of things:
Special Weapons Guard Troopers (melta or plasma)
Jokaeros + MM Servitors + Guard Special Weapons (plasma) + Chimera = Defensive (backfield) unit.
Guard Special Weapons (melta) + Crusaders + Assassins + Chimera = Offensive (forward) unit.
1: No effect
2: All non-template weapons get 12" range increase
3: Armour save gets better by 1
4: All shooting weapons get Rending
5: Everyone in the squad gets 5++ invu save
6+: Roll twice again, ignore duplicate results
Theoretically you can get warriors with 2+ save, but paying a minimum of 14 points for power armored WS/BS/S/T/I 3 models (+ Jokaero price) is probably not worth it when you can get a Grey Knights with marine statline and special rules for about 20 pts a piece.
Revenant Moon Necrons: (W/L/D) 0/1/0 (6th edition: 13/2/2)(5th edition: 14/6/4)(3rd edition Codex: 16/4/7)
XIX Legion: (W/L/D) 0/0/0 (5th edition: 14/12/2)(5th edition Codex: 4/3/0)
Black Legion: (W/L/D) 1/0/0 (6th edition: 2/3/0)
Something Wicked... Reikwald Beastmen: (W/L/D) 10/4/1
You can spam 125 pt squads with 5 guys in a chimera all with plas/melta... it's filthy. They're like platoon command squads but cheaper and you don't need a whole platoon to take them.
I know it's random, but you can take multiple Joekaro so you don't roll bad. I guess flamers are up to 10 points now too, but if you're prepared to shell out you can get a real deathstar. How about 9 of these dudes with flamers, power armour, 3x joekaro and chuck them all in a Chimera for 376. Whatever you roll on the table at that point is going to be awesome. Rending flamers are probably the best (!). Yeah it costs a bit but the lower cost of the chimelta equivalent more than compensates. 9 flamers and 3 heavy flamers would be ridiculous. Oh plus the extra one on the Chimera

Praise the Emperor and pass the promethium!
Once you start making them more durable, the cost goes up quick.
OM Inquisitor (Psycannon) + 3 Warriors (Meltas or Plasmas) + 2 Jokaeros + 4 Crusaders + Chimera = 212 points.
That's a flexible and very durable unit, but you'll pay for it.
