Hey guys, I've been thinking of way to incorporate henchmen into my army lists, but I have to say that I am not overly impressed with the models currently available.
So I was thinking, since warrior acolytes are basically guardsmen, would it be alright to use Death Korp of Krieg models instead. For the inquisitor I was thinking that the DKoK quartermaster fits the role perfectly as well, take a look:
Forge World - DEATH KORPS OF KRIEG QUARTERMASTER AND RETINUE
Let me know what you guys think!
Looks cool. You could even have the guy on the right with all the wires and cables and stuff "count as" one of those apes.
Great minds must indeed think alike!
I was thinking the exact same thing. DKoK guys look fantastic!
Trust me, I would love to have another model fill the role of the monkey. However, I don't want to deviate too much though because I wouldn't want to be called out by anyone or at a tournament for not using the proper models. The codex describes the weaponsmith as "a heavy set, orange-furred ape". I don't think any amount of creativity or conversions can get around that haha.
Well iv got a mixed response for you!
DkoK as Henchmen, warriors as you put it (who have basicly Gdsm Profile) Works exelent, i do it myself with Cadians, they could be localy aquired forces, or even hand picked from the best he has worked with (one cadian, one steel legion etc, a great excuse to paint up a random guard!)
The other hand, i dont think the QM as an Inquisitor works, mainly because DkoK have such a spesific style, you look at it, you know, that is a Dkok Man, If you were to do a head swap, make sure the paint job radicaly stands him out, it could work.
Id go for a crimson cloak, gold edge, the =][= on the back, silver steel chest plate, make the henchmen grungy and dark and voila, he stands out enough!
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.
