Hey everyone, I see a lot of us plan on using Grand Master Mordrak. I have noticed some people are wondering how to represent him in their armies without an official model for him. I do have an idea of how to do a quick conversion to make Mordrak without needing to be amazing with green-stuff. I haven't actually tested this, but I have looked over the sprues and I'm pretty sure this would work nicely. Kits required:
- Plastic Grey knight terminators
Draigo comes in these pieces: body with legs, 2 arms (sword and shield), head or helmet option, banner. The terminator kit comes with all the pieces to make the 5 figures, but I also noticed it comes with 6-7 pairs of arms and 6 sets of shoulder pads.
So what you could so is take Draigo's epic body and head/helmet of your choice then attach the plastic terminator arms/shoulder pad to him. The plastic sprues of all grey knights have a daemon hammer so I'm sure you'll have atleast 1 extra for Mordrak. Finally, he needs an iron halo. For this I believe the head of a warding stave will fit the role nicely. Simply pose him with the hammer and attach the head of the stave to the top of his terminator armour right behind his head.
I believe this is the easiest conversion as it doesn't require cutting or any special techniques. Furthermore, if a Mordrak model is released down the road, you can easily tear the plastic bits off the metal body and add the original parts to form Draigo.
Tau my love! You are back!
Here's a thread which is a blessing.
I love conversions, but hate green stuff ... well, I can handle it to some extent. Mostly creating extra hair, fur collars, and other small details.
Mordrak has to be the best HQ in the codex.
Rep fpr you
GW really hit the win switch when they started making metal minis cross-compatible with the plastic kits, that's for sure.

Great idea, i saw people on ebay with Draigo bits before i saw this post and thought they were a lil crazy or stupid. But i just got a draigo body for $11 + $4 shipping, not a bad deal, no wasted parts i wont use. I also had a friend check, and a plastic terminator head will fit his body as well if you trim the round part at the bottom. I dont plan on using him as Mordrak.. or not yet but as a normal GM, Iron halo + sword = 3++ save who needs a storm shield.
Just got my draigo body in today, looks great with normal terminator arms. 1 tip for any1 else going to try this, when cutting the warding stave save yourself a little room at the bottom to fit on his back where the banner would go. The little box (power block?) under the head of the saff i cut it at the first of the 2 lines and its just enough room.
