Can anyone tell me what books I need to by to use the full Elysian drop troop army?
I'm new to Imperial guard, Having always been an Elder player and have only just returned to the game after a 4 year hiatus, and as I really liked the Elysian models, and story behind them decided for a change. Instead of playing an elf army based on highly mobile, light infantry and long range skimmer surport, I went with an Imperial army based on highly mobile, light infantry and long range air surport. Point is, I'd like to know what resources I need. I've ordered Imperial armour 8, and have yet to order the Imperial Guard Codex, but intend. Is this all I'll need to start constructing an army list?
Yeah the IA8 list makes reference to the stock IG codex so you need both.
The FAQ helps too since they forgot to describe some stuff and there are some mistakes too:

Thanks. Seems like I'm pretty much set to get started, once the mail arrives at any rate...
Call the Arbites, another one has lost his mind and gone ForgeWorld... I can hear the dying screams of his bank accounts from here.
RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
To be fair, the Elysian IA8 list is pretty cool. I just prefer being able to play with my army anywhere.

Yeah the optimal situation is when you can build a force with either the Forgeworld list or the one from the stock IG codex with the same figures. I know people have been running air cav builds with the IG codex for a long while so it's got to be possible.
There's no reason at all that you need to shell out on FW figs just to use a FW list though. Regular Cadians will be just fine as air cavalrymen. It's not like they have grav chutes in the real world, just say when they deepstrike they're rappelling down with ropes from a transport like modern day troops.
