Hi I've decided to start a Space Marine army and as I'm a long time player of Dawn of War I really want to paint them as Blood Ravens while I have read many different guides I want to ask you guys what you believe is the most accurate way to paint blood ravens.
Slap paint on the until they look like they do in the game? :p
Red armour, with black trim and white inset on the shoulderpads. It's really not a complex colour scheme at all.
I'd recommend macharius red (foundation paint) for the basecoat, devlan mud wash, highlighting with orange/red mix. oh, and black/white as per shoulder pads, boltgun / black wash for mechanical parts (maybe highlight with mithril according to taste) etc. a light green - goblin green with a thraka green wash for the eyes. p.s. the white will do fine with a watered down black wash, then re-neaten with white.
post pics, I believe fw do a lot of stuff you'd like

Hey thanks a lot staycrunchyinmilk thats exactly the kind of guide I was looking for, really going to be helpful when i start painting =)
I thought the blood ravens had more of a creamy colour for their shoulders?
In the previous codex, the blood ravens colors were Red Gore, and Bleached Bone, which is what I think best represents them. See the paint scheme I've done here:
I also highlighted the edges with blood red on the red armour, and skull white on the trimmings.
