Can a vendetta make a 12" scout move?
Yes, in fact they can make a 24" scout move.
They can even go flat out as scout move? WOW! Is there any penalty for going flat out in scout mode or can they go another 12 in first turn and drop off people? That gives the passengers a 42" first turn assault range?

Units in a Valk/Vendetta have a 38" assault range turn 1. 24(scout)+2(disembark)+6(move)+6(assault)=38". It also does not matter where the flying stem is on your base as you disembark from the oval base.
It matters in deployment. Everything else is still measured using the hull and the nose sticks about 1-2 inches infront of the base depending on how far back the stem is mounted. That 1-2 inches overhang means you can't deploy right on the 12" line.It also does not matter where the flying stem is on your base as you disembark from the oval base.
I have never counted deployment in "threat" range, as it will depend on what deployment type you are playing. DoW you will not be able to deploy at all, spearhead you can get about 18" away durring deployment, Pitch Battle you are 24" away from your opponent, heck your opponent can have an all reserve list. If you have to modify how you put the stand on your base to get a 1-2" advantange I feel sorry for you.
The bottom line is, if you are in a position to use your scout move you will be able to get a turn 1 assault if you deploy in the correct manner.
Oh yeah that's weird. I'd just assumed spearhead is 24 inches between sides but you don't have to go through the middle of the circle.
The shortest distance is actually just under 17 inches. That's pretty insane, I'll have to remember that when I deploy.
Copy, Improve, Innovate
Ya that whole 42" thing was because I mixed my vendetta up with my stormravens. I thought it was an assault vehicle so I guess its a 38with the 2" disembark... forgot those 2 inches.
I was thinking assault vehicle equals 24+12+6 for assault move=42.
My bad. But it gives me a great idea for my grey knights. Grand Master gives scout to one or hopefully both ravens. Scout 24+ 12 move+ 2 disembark+ 6 assault= 44" charge with terminators turn one!

Storm ravens don't get scout.
