grr, i hate how i can get power armour for my acolites, or atificer, but nothing else. we go from a 6+ to a 3+ or 2+ with nothing in between. it makes no sense. the newbies can have the best or nothing. their either useless or overpriced! all i want is a 4+ or 5+ save on my fodder. t would make sense fluff wise and i so many other ways. personally i think its a huge oversight (like not including the BOLTER-until the faq). it would increase the utility of these guys greatly by allowing for more equipment diversity. right now im building a 500pt list and some cheep 4,5 saves would be great to help keep a cheep hq/ elete unit together. plus this would be great for modelling variety. what do you all think? do you think an opponent would allow it using ig prices or something? it would be great if we could get gw to change that, hummmm......
p.s. do you think there would be anything in the chapter approved about it?
It would be nice, but I'm not too broken up about it. The way I see it, Daemonhunters are meant to be thrown at the biggest and baddest enemies. They wouldn't employ carapace armor for that! So it's either unarmored (6+) or the best (2/3+) for them. Carapace armor wouldn't stand up to a daemon, so it's almost a waste, fluff-wise. Granted, how often do you play against chaos with your DH? Like I said, it'd be nice, but it makes sense to me why we don't have it.
just give them a refractor field if you really want a 5+ save
thats not so much the issue,
im making an inq for a 500 pt game so i need it to be cheep- but at the same time help. a 6+ doesnt do that and either does a rf. also id like to do it for modeling purposes-it would look cool. anyhow-if i were to include them what do you think a good point cost would be?
just ask your friend if you can buy Carapace Armor for 5 points for your Alcolytes. unless it's an "offical" game, he shouldn't care.
and if you ever go to an offical game, just say the carapace armor is "special fany anti melee armor" (aka storm shield).
hey i like that boxant.. thanks for the suggestions (though at those points id just get the PA. but i will keep that in mind for friendly games. you think five points is good? what about a 4+ then? seven?
