Rhino - Firing Points for my melta!
Razorback - I can has gunz on it!
Drop Pod - It's like Halo: ODST!!!
Foot Slog -You've got feet for a reason!
Tactical squads and their dedicated transports: Razorbacks have a better weapon and weapon options, the Rhinos have Firing Points, the Drop Pod can land in the enemies face first turn or you might prefer to foot-slog...
What's your preferred setup and why?
Not considering the rest of my army, a Razorback. I'll keep the heavy weapon back at base and send the other half forward.
Usually though there's some kind of trick to my army - drop pods, bikes, something like that. Never footslogging though, and a rhino is almost as rare.
Rhino, becouse it can transports full squad, gives you mobility and some protection.
drop pod are good, but when you land it you can't charge (which i think is very unfluffy) and then you must foot slog.
NEVER use a tactical squad without a transport, it is a waste of points in my opinion.
I don't like Razorbacks (like the Imperium) becouse they can't transport full squads (I only use full tactical squads).
Generally a mix of them.
The core of my 1500 point army is based around 4 full tactical squads. one drop pods in near enemy lines with flamers to cause chaos and confusion while the support squad rushes up in a rhino and joins in. the other two are combat squaded to keep two 5 man squads near my base with the heavy weapons while the other 2 go in basic razorbacks to assists elsewhere, claim another objective or just keep my opponent guessing.
Of course i also use all drop pod, all rhino, and often pure foot sloggers. My favourite is however the razoback simply for it's cheap cost, decent armour, modest transport (useful when half the squads dead from enemy fire) and it's an effective weapons platform
I got lost on the road of life
I'm a great fan of Drop Pods, myself. No other transport is guaranteed to do what the primary purpose of transports is: To deliver your squad to the place you want.

Rhinos, two, three or four squads can generally go places without threat of being killed. I usually err on the side of caution with these things:
Razorback - Oh no, half of my squad is able to be shot at !
Drop Pod - Oh no, I have a squad which will not be in cover and can be assaulted next turn !
Footslogging - Oh no, I'm dead !
Rhino - It's quite comfy in here... ooh, an objective, let's sit here for a while and shoot at people who get too close.

Space Marine and Imperial Guard General :)
A mix of the above is my answer.
Praise be to the Emperor!!
I love the aesthetic of an army lined up in ranks, walking across the field. Especially when you add in a vibrant armour pallette and a few banners. When my army marches across the field I feel like I'm "taking that hill" or "charging the bunkers". When I put them in rhinos, I just feel like it's some drag race, until my rhinos get blown up in the first turn of shooting, and then I'm just walking my guys across the field anyways, except now they only have one special weapon in the squad instead of the two.
Vindicator spam and mech IG lists are, of course, my achilles heel.
