    Is it worth taking a Master of the Forge?

    Evening all, as the title says i was wondering what everyone's opinion is on taking the Master of the Forge?

    Otherwise, no. None of his options (even the Bike + Conversion Beamer) is worth it's points compared to other HQ options.

    So having Servitors, increasing cover saves, extra close combat stuff, repairing vehicles and 6 dreadnoughts isn't worth it?

    Crappy statline, and subpar rules and wargear even by the standards of the Ultramarine HQs. About the only gear I'll take him with is a bike and a railgun/conversion beamer, and even that's generally assuming that I'm taking him anyways for the extra dreadnoughts.

    (FWIW, there are very few HQs that I consider to be actually worth their points as standalone units - and not simply worth it compared to other HQ options)
