- What do you think of Arco - Flagellants
- I see the Chimera can have 2 Heavy Flamers Equiped - Isnt this going to rule ass for its point costs?
- Do Dominion Squads seem a little over powered? They are the equivilent of a devistator squad but for less points!
- Exorcist seems way over powered, what do you think?
- can a Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor lord wield both a Blessed Weapon and a power weapon at one time? Maybe a stupid question but it needed to be asked!
For tanks Im thinking of getting a Chimera with 2 Heavy Flamers, Immolator and an Exorcist!
well, im not sure about arco flagellents, chimeras are 70pts plus the cost for 2 heavy flamers and cant fire on the move...so its not gonna rule ass, dominions arnt over powered at all, but i have yet to see a use for them that seras cant take as well, exorcists are crazy and DO rule ass, and no,you cant give inquisitors a blessed weapon..look at the numbers above the items
Yeah I just noticed that a Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor Lord cant wield a Blessed Weapon.
Whats the best setup for the Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor Lord.
As for Arco Flaggelents, no witch hunter unit is a bad unit, or points sink. The question is really what YOU think of them. Your style of play is much more important when you consider a unit.
We have debated powerfull units in the witch hunters list. Remember, you pay for quality, and witch hunter units are priced about right. Exorcists and dominions are really great, thats why they are so expensive.
Dominions have to pay more for weapons other squads can get for cheaper. They are hardly a retribution unit. They can take meltabombs and their guns are even shorter range.
The exorcist has the potential to fire 6 krak rockets. On average it will fire 3. However, through experiance, and statistic class's, I have learned that most statistics are bunk. 135 pts for a potential increadible OR awfull unit sounds right.
why would you wan't to give your inquisiter lord 2 different weapons that count as a power weapons to begin with? You choose one weapon to make your attacks with. An additional 1 handed close combat weapon merely adds an additional attack. The blessed weapon is a 2 handed weapon, but if you had given the inquisiter lord the power weapon and a plain close combat weapon, that would still be 4 attacks with a power weapon OR 4 attacks with a regular close combat weapon. You get to choose.
Well this is what I got sofar
- Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor Lord - Digital Weapon, Force Weapon - 95pnts
- 7x Warriors - Power Sword, Supression Shield - 140pnts
- 2x Sage - 20pnts
What do you think of this HQ? Seriously. Im new so need a little direction!
Your config seems a little astray because I think you can only have a maximum of 3 of any type of hencemen in your retinue so could only have 3 warriors not 7. And if you are trying to create a CC HQ with force weapon, power weapon and SShield why have you added the 2 x Sages when you've little to shoot with and they increase your BS?
I've had little success with an Inquistor Lord HQ but would think that if you are building a CC HQ (I quess it comes down to your personal playing style as mentioned previously) then Acolytes and combat servitors would be the go, but someone else could probably advise you better on this.
I will be trying an Inquisitor with retinue as an Elite choice in my next battle. I'll post my assessment of it here afterward. ( Up until now I have, aside from a single priest, been fielding an entirely Sisters army.)
My Inquisitor will have as a retinue:
One acolyte in power armor with a bolter
Three Gun Servitors (plasma Cannon, two Heavy Bolters)
This is primarily a shooting setup. I have not decided what equipment to assign to my Inquisitor.
Query: from reading the text in the Codex: Witch Hunters is it implied that all incoming attacks are directed at the Inquisitor / Inquisitor Lord? This is the impression I get from reading the rules for the Acolytes, Chiurgeons and Penitents.
"The sword that takes life gives life."
I believe if you take one of the henchmen it makes it so that you can direct 1 attack towards your Inq. I may be wrong. Will know for sure tomorrow and Ill post the results of my find!
Average is actually 3.5 but that's a moot point. Exorcists can be great or could get blown up first turn as vehicles do.Originally posted by Shiver@Oct 14 2004, 12:49

And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
-Arco flaggents IMO are 2 expensive for a unit that has to walk acrross the battle field, dies when a 6 is rolled for attacks, and any opponent who sees them will wasted them statiscally before they get into CC.
-Dominion I love them in all configurations with a vet sister superior 5 flamers, meltas, or storm bolters are hard to pass up. (or combos of each)
-Exorcist must have one I don't right now and I pay for not having the range every time.
-Chimera no opinion as I don't use them but for IG I do induct an infantry platoon (1 troops selection) and load it with heavy weapons especially Las cannons as no SOB units have access to them.
-Lord have one but haven't used it much
