So I play 40k (DE and tyranids) and I acquired a bunch of marines crap over the last few years. I have enough at this point that I could field a decent marine army. All I need are the chapter specific pieces.
I have two dreadnoughts, one pred, one Baal pred, one stormraven, 4 death co., 2 tac squads, 1 assault squad, 1 Libby, 1 terminator Libby, 1 dev squad, 20 terminators (I inherited a deathwing army,) a landraider, and a landraider crusader.
I know I have some BA specific stuff, but I'm more concerned with how the different chapters play. I didn't like the deathwing.
The thing that pushes me toward BA are assault squads as troops. Am I correct in my reasoning that since assault squads have chain swords and bolt pistols that they'll get two attacks, while tac squads since they have no close combat weapon and only bolt pistols will only get one attack?
Enlighten me to the strengths of the other chapters and what army specific models there are (death co for BA.) no one plays wolves where I'm from so I have no experience there.
BA are awesome. they are fast, both because of their fast tanks and their multitude of JP troops. you are right in saying that assault marines get two attacks, and also a discount on transports if their take off their JPs. they have a lot of FNP, making them very tough. they deepstrike better, only 1 d6. BUT, they can also shoot. they have all the stuff CM get, but fast, so a pred can move 6 ansd shoot everything. they also have the specific units like baal preds (TL assautl cannons, flamestorm cannons and scout!), DC (amazing when in a vehicle and with a chappy/reclusiarch, they get re rolls to hit and wound + FC and FNP, for cheaper than a khorne beserker), furioso dreads (can get unlimited attacks!), and a couple more which i don't have time to explain. basically BA are the best marines, and you already have some specific part , which would be a shame to waste.
Wolves also have virtually everything C: SM has, but with the best troop choice in the game (Grey Hunters) and probably the best Heavy Support (Long Fangs)
Don't forget the Black Templars and Dark Angels either. Most of the stuff in their codex's is underpowered and overcosted but for some builds (All Terminator and such) they're great.
Sounds like you mostly have BA bits though and I don't have a bad word to say about them
thing with space wolves you can run an all terminator list which is brutally, this consists of logan grimnar and 20 terminators, also gray hunters are good as they also have 2 attacks but there is the wolf standard which lets you re roll all ones in one close combat phase and the mark ofthe wulfen
as you can see there are a lot of wolfy advantages. however, one of the common build for them is the logan grimnir and termies stated in the previous post. this is similar to about half the dark angels lists. from looking at your OP then still think that BA are the best choice. they have other close combat units that aren't terminators of any flavour.
Ask your self what kind of war you like?CC?Shooty?A mix?All termies?Bikes? And then we could help you better.

I guess its up to what kind of gameplay you wanna play. You already have Tyranids (hordey and mostly CC oriented) and Dark Eldar (a very fast shooty army). Would you like an elite army (fewer models)? Are you interested in having an assault army vs a shooty army vs a balanced army?
I have Blood Angels. Before that I had Tau which is a VERY shooty army. I chose Blood Angels because they were assault oriented (opposite of Tau). I also chose them because they have a bunch of different, good Dreadnoughts. I love Dreads but regular Dreads are kinda meh, rules wise... but Furiosos are awesome and Death Company Furiousos are infantry squishing maniacs and Libby Dreads are a nice fun diversion. I also chose them because they are red .
Think about things in your other armies you havent been able to do. Do you want a big heavy hitting Terminator focused army? Space Wolves and Grey Knights may be for you. Do you want awesome psykers? Grey Knights are probably the way to go (Space Wolves have a rediculous psyker power as well). Do you want a more shooty army? Ultramarines (and arguably Grey Knights) may be a good option. If you want a kick ass assault army, Space Wolves and Blood Angels are your options.
From a fluff point of view, Black Templars are uber religious anti-psykers... who knows that may interest you. And they are due for a codex in the next year or two (hopefully).
I would recommend just play testing with proxies using the different codexes and see what you like playing...
Judging from the models you have, going Blood Angels or Grey Knights may be the way to go...
To be honest, I like power armor. My other armies get mostly 5+ or worse armor. I'm always jealous. I like lascannons. S9 AP2 at 48". I need some of those.
When it comes down to it I like the core marines. Tac squads and assault squads, grey hunters.
All of the basic chapters have units that I like. GK is kinda meh in my opinion. They lose too many options. And BT is a little outdated. Whichever army, the core is going to be the same. 3-4 assault squads, 2-3 tac squads, a dev squad, autocannon/lascannon pred, vindicator, maybe some dreads. Everyone has those.
Furiousos are sweet, Baal preds are sweet. Stormravens are probably overpriced. Deep-striking landraiders are hilarious.
Wolf-scouts are epic and longfangs are sweet.
If you like them all create your own chapter and use whatever codex you like.Today play SW,next BA and so on...
Remember to make the models of the special units for each chapter distinct though.

So, as you can see, you can flip flop between Team Edward and Team Jacob at a moment's notice.
