i went to gamesday chicago over the summer and they said that they are gonan have an elite choice unit that is liek a uperpowered version of a techmarine with some new equiptment with servitor bodyguards, and its rumored that venerable dreadnoughts are going to be available to all space marines players. and with both of those, basically iron hands as a chapter looses all its uniqueness, has anyone heard differnely or are as upset as i am
Quote of the week: "dude, for a whole hour, i would fall asleep!"
In my mind they were already &*%$#@!!!!
I mean yes venerable dreads are good, but that is about it.
Terminator vet serg are completely useless. Due to the mixed armour saves rules it is possible for him to be killed, for example- a unit of 10 space marines with a terminator vet serg are wounded 11 times 9 are taken on the majority (9 normal marines) then one on hte serg, then back onto the majority. As his save is rolled separately, because it is different, it means if it is failed then the serg WILL have to die.
The Iron Father is okay......... but the servitors were absolute @#$&.
I was thinking of some "good" rules for Iron hands and I thought they could have a kind of bionic save (6+) or just a not-as-good "we'll be back" like a 5+ or 6+. Just to represent how Iron Hands just try hard to be like Necrons.
Or I thought of capturing their righteous fury for weak things and that against things with a S value under them they re-roll to hit in htge first round of combat, or just +1A........
Or to represent the strength of the bionic bits they have they could all be S5 or T5 or something similar.
How victory may be produced for them out of the enemy's
own tactics--that is what the multitude cannot comprehend.

I agree, i always thought that the iron hands deserved something more than a special dreadnought and a cheap iron father. They got screwed.
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
I guess Space Wolves will be less special too, if everyone and their grandmother is going to be bringing a venerable dread to the table...
I am the Aquila-Guerilla!
Alot of chapters are getting screwed over by the new codex, Iron Hands, Dark Angels.... the list goes on.
Sadly there isn't much we can do about it, but grit your teeth and smile and pray that whoever came up with this gets it in the face.

The new book will have all the special "traits" to make most of the smaller chapters.
Not everyone will get everything, you’re still going to have to pick a few traits and stick with it. It’s just to make building your own chapter easy as you can simply call it a sub chapter of whatever main chapter uses the trait.
I hope the "trait" system is balanced enough and interesting enough to make some interesting "chapters" But I have a feeling people will find the uber setup and twist it into a way to win more games, not add to the character of your army.
about the Venerable, WD said that the Venerable will be different for other SM chapters, they won't all be the same Space Wolf ones

yeah and space wolves shouldent be bitching newayz because they get soooo much other uniqueness as it is

I'm glad the Venerable Dread is for everyone now. Not to ***** off any SW players, but SW are so cheap. They are the best Marine Chapter cuz they get so much extra *****, its unbelievable! The amount of extra crap they get is unfair. But oh well, thats how it goes. Have fun.
Sorry, that was really off topic but i had to let that out. Sorry.

I'm sorry, but you're way off on Space Wolves bud. Go ahead, name some of this "extra crap" we get that doesn't cost a %&#($*% load of points. It's hard enough getting 40 marines in a 1500 point list with transports. We're an assault army. We don't have the luxury of being able to pick and choose between assault and shooting. For some examples..
Grey Hunters: To get bolters, we pay more points than you do per tactical marine. True Grit is now a worthless ability, so we're losing out there and gaining nothing in return. The new Rapid Fire rules hurt Grey Hunters. Badly.
Blood Claws: Sure, they're cheaper, can get fairly large squads and can take multiple power fists........but they have a low WS. Against any other CC-based army, BCs become less and less useful. I prefer a mass of Hunters.
Ven. Dread: The only truly useful "special" model we have, and he's an ungodly amount of points pre-weapons.
Long Fangs: Nice rules, but worthless against any shooty army. As soon as you take a wound, you lose your lovely little special rule you pay so much for, or a heavy weapon. Dev. Squads aren't forced to make that choice, since they can have meat shields.
Leman Russ Exterminator: Again, a nice vehicle, but expensive. I'd rather have an LRC to cart my BCs around in.
HQ Rule: If you think any other army has a nasty points sink, stop, slap yourself and take a look at the SW HQ rule. Sure, Ven Dread counts as one, but in 1850, we need 3, count 'em, 3 HQs. And none of them are cheap. Period. And without the ability to take the Champ, it just gets worse.
I promise you, Space Wolves don't get all the "extra crap". That's Black Templars, the Power Gamer's wet dream. =)
Errrr, sorry. That was off-topic. Just irked me. People seem to think Space Wolves have some ungodly love from GW that makes them unstoppable. =\
Anyway, from what I have actually read about Iron Hands, being that they're not a chapter that's held much of my interest, yes, it does sound like they're basically screwed. But, then again, the new codex is pretty much ganking 90% of all other chapter's special abilities......so join the club. =\
