I don't see it in my IG army book is it in the same book as other kind of Leman Russ tanks?
griffons were indifect firing tanks very similar to whirlwinds, i beilever they were 8 points, 48 inch guess range and strength 5 and ap 4, but im under the impression the ony ones who can take it now is ig armored company
Quote of the week: "dude, for a whole hour, i would fall asleep!"
Oblivion_Angel i suggest you get rid of that copyrighted material even tho everything you said was incorrect. We here at Lo arent allowed to post the the specs of it but what i can tell you is that it just like the basalisk but instead of the earthshaker cannon its a big a** mortar and its only present in the older Ig codexs, it is not a usable tank in an imperial guard army only armored companys and with your opponents consent you can use it

After all it doesn't seem worth, the basilisk has better range and more firepower....
The thing the griffon has over the basilisk is that it has no minimum range. So it can handle an aggressive force. It also had special bunker buster shells that could harm people hiding inside of a fortification. The rules I think, are in one of the Imperial armor books.
Not to mention, it was a fair bit cheaper than a Basalisk with indirect fire and siege shells (which is great in cityfight), it's a damn shame that not even Forge World was wanting to save the tank. It's not listed in the index of IA Vol. I so the only place you can find the rules listing was in a WD 29X.
And also it was the fairer tank of the two. People scream cheese when I haul in a bassie for 750 (admittedly it is warrented)
I love that infantry support mortar.
arn't the rules in a chapter approved?
every body say Waaaaagh!
Rules are listed in US WD 29X. They however can only be used in Imperial Guard ARMOURED COMPANY only, and even then you must expend a single doctrine point on them.
All prior listings in CA 2k4 and CA v. 1 are now out of date and obsolete since the CA article in said white dwarf, make those obselete.
There was a griffon at my local gamesworkshop store. No one bought it so the manager said he might try to convert it into a basilisk.
I had used a Griffon in my Imperial Guard army but now its looted in my ork army but it is a big mortar with strenght 6 ap4 ordenance, range 12-48, it is a generally good tank but its lacking strong offenive capabilities and I'd rather go with the basilisks than the griffion thats why its not in the new Imperial Guard codex but it is in the old one.
The Predator Lingers forth. Suddenly the sound of several wipping sounds can be heard far off into the distance, a second later the once mighty Predator ignited with flames. "Sir what was that" The srgt replied "Its those damn Broadsides"
Hear the wip, fear the Broadside.
