Hello all have been away for a while and I am thinking of starting am Imperial fists army now that I'm back. I was wondering if any one had any advice for me as far as what to pick up, or what works best for they're army. I will be picking up the mega-force when it comes out in December, it seemed like a good start. Also if anyone knows any of they're fluff as far as what they use in battle etc. it would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Well they are noted as siege specialists, so meltas plasma and las cannons are more than ok, they used to be refered more as defensive specialists so running them like that with vindicators and thunderfire cannons are good options, or whirlwinds in place of vindicators are good choices too.
Just comes down to combos in your squads that match that kind of description really, check out lexicaniums write up on the chapter, gives a great deal of background for how they operate.
Bit similar to dark angels, will often not fall back even when it's the best idea.
The Imperial Fists are a pretty codex-compliant chapter. You can pretty much take what you like, and paint them yellow.
The fluff with the Codex Astartes, Imperial Fist is a good one, with Rogal Dorn being one of the original Primarchs to stand against the Codex astartes because guleilman(sp) was a douche, the Chapter was credited with the defense of Terra, and Dorn stood side by side the Emp when he battled horus, then there comes the play of the pain gauntlet being as they don't have some gene in their seed that allows them to produce the organ that allows a marine to shut off the pain sensors they are all about it, they focus hard on pain and what it can teach which is why they are stubborn, a chain sword acrost the chest dosn't hurt as much as a loss on the battle field.
Lysander fields him self with the best of the best the verterans of the army, IE Terminators, Sternguard, Vanguard, what ever you wish to take - I like to foot slog Lysander and a unit of 10 Relentless terms down a field with a cyclone missle launcher and Twin Linked SB's and support it with Two preds a WW 3 tacts in your style of box :3 being a seige army, they are really shooty and some times they get rash and make bad descions - their chapter master vladamir pugh sacrificed a 1,000 battle brothers to an assault so he burned his taste buds from his mouth as the emperor can not hear see or taste in his current form.
Thank ya'll for the quick replies. Also another quick question: Is the chapter master worth the extra 25 points if I'm taking Lysander or is the captain good enough?
Are you talking about the new mega-force comming out or the one thats out now?
