I've been playing around with my normal mech guard list (ccs with plasmas, metla vets, vendettas, hellhound, MRL, LRBT and LREx...pretty normal list) and trying to mix stuff up. I recently played a game where i took out my PCS with flamers, 2x IS with GL/AC, and SWS with flamers (and other random addons) to make room for 2 10 man squads of Psyker Battle Squads in chimera's. Seemed to work pretty well but as I full well know you can't get a true feel for a unit till you've played a lot of games vs many different opponents. So my question is, has anyone else used them with success or are they more just fluff and a little change of pace.
Against fearless opponenets they are medeocre.
Against ATSKNF enemies they are ok.
Against others they are great. The ability to get a large unit of knob bikers to test on Ld2 is fantastic.

I can't get good use out of the debuff ability. Seems everybody in my metagame is fearless, stubborn or mechanized. The template ability is nice enough but battle cannons don't get shut down by psychic hoods. They're a reasonable addition to a Chimera-heavy list but not as special as they look.

Thanks for the advice. I've just been looking for different stuff to try like PBS, stormtroopers, ratlings, etc and keep coming back to my normal mech list. haha I've even tried to toss in "Iron hand" or a lord commisar but cant justify the points. Leaning towards Straken just to give my CCS a little more umph if they happen to get assulted.
