Hey guys i was wondering how you outfit/equip your DC? I wud love to use them but im conflicted on how to equip. I would like them to be dangerous up close and at least decent/average in shooting for if they have yo chase people or soften them up. My main questiobs are:
- How many of each special weapons do you take?
- Bolters or pistols? or how many of each
- How many guys per point level?
I already know that i dont want JP and i dont want them naked in terms of weaponry (or the other naked). Thanks guys.
Since they are pretty expensive to start with and subject to Rage, I would put them into a Rhino. In there they don't really need Relentless anymore, so I'd go with bolt pistols, a couple of powerfists and a maximum number of inferno pistols. I know Jump Packs and bolters would be pretty awesome, but the cost is just prohibitive...

I can't think of anything. DC with no packs and non-trivial shooting is impractical. If they go in a Land Raider then ranged weapons are pointless. If they walk then they're completely uncontrollable and unlikely to get close to the enemy without sacrificing shooting for running. Even inferno pistols in a Rhino is less effective than a de-packed Assault Squad with real meltas. Not that they need infernos to kill most vehicles anyway, thanks to krak grenades and furious charge.
DC are shock troops. Kit them for CC and throw them in. Finesse and balance are wasted on the insane.

Ya i was thinking of kitting them for CC but maybe 2 or 3 bolters just in case there running around and in range. I was thinking of using them in a SR or a LR. which one would be better in your opinion? also how many PF, TH and PS would be a good amount?
One PF and one PW seems like a good amount. You can give the PF guy a bolter as well, since he won't get the extra attack in CC anyway. Five or six at either 140 or 160 points isn't too expensive point's wise...
At 5 or 6 guys that seems like a good option. Un bigger matches at 7 or 8 people would 2 PW be good? O ya, is taking the Chaplain worth the extra points to let them re-roll hits and wounds. On a bad roll day this could be very useful, and even on a good day to take out those last few guys? Do you normally run them with a Chappy?
i like 5 with 4 PW and 1 fist with chaplin in a rino.
Its expensive but it also deletes just about anything i point it at.
In larger games (apoc) i like 30 w/ 25 PW, 5 fist, and a chaplin in a stormlord. Just because i can and the looks i recieve from other players when i tell them what is in the the stormlord.
Lol that sounds hilarious with 30!!! But sadly I'm not at Apoc yet. Maybe 5 with a PF , 2 PW and a Chappy? That's more reasonably priced and can still go Killy on stuff, plus the Chappy to make them even more crazy. Why do you put them in a rhino if they cant assault out of it? How do you get them to assault waterer and how/what do you do if the rhino wrecks itself?
i used to run about 8 with 3 power weapons and a powerfist. but recently iv been thinking about taking 6 with bolters 2 power weapons and a power fist. yeah they lose one attack in CC but gain alot of range with the bolters after everything has moved out their way after you nuke 1 unit

I guess it depends on the transport and wether they can assault out of it or not. Tell me how it works out and if you use a chappy
