Hello, I haven't played 40k in about 12 years, but everyone in my area plays it instead of fantasy. I've been lurking on the forum for a few weeks to get an idea what people are playing with, current tactics, etc. That said, I can't decide what kind of Space Marine army to make. Please post your thoughts about this list.
Troop: 2 Tactical Squads, 10 marines each, meltagun/missle launcher and power fist for captain.
Elite: Deadnought with MM and HF
Ironclad Dreadnought with 2xHF, drop pod (with deathwind launcher)
Fast Attack: 2x Land Speeders with MM/HF
2x Land Speeders with MM/HF
Heavy Support: 2 Thunderfire Cannons
1 Predator AC/LC
This is roughly 1500 points I believe (doing mental math here). Before you post please spare me the thunderfire cannon hate, I want to do a different kind of army than razor spam or tank spam. Thanks
Personally when I have a vulkan list i dont take dreadnoughts with HF an MM, instead i go for sternguard vets with combi flamers or combi meltas,
The thunderfires are a good idea, especially if you are using the subterranian shots, it will work well with the land speeders and should give you a great manuvrability bonus.
please forgive the spelling

With Vulkan and Dreadnoughts, I'd make heavier use of Drop Pods. Two Dread Pods and one Tactical Pod with Vulkan is a good offense when paired with your supporting fire...makes for a well-balanced list. You can either drop a Landspeeder, the Deathwind and/or change the Ironclad to a regular Dread to afford the changes.
