What do you think of this new army box for Space Marines.

To me it does seem too much of a great deal. It also stops originality coming to a Army. Lots of little kids who got their parents to buy them a box set.

Nor does it seem to good value for money.

What do you think

I've been trying to work out how much you save on it.
I'll probably get it as its a good basis for a 2000 points marine force.

I'd still go for the Space Marine Megaforce box. Any SM player will use everything in it.

I don't like all the choices in the new army box. Is there any Heavy Support in there? I see 3 Fast Attack choices, plus a rhino... It's actually kind of lame, not much better than a couple of Battle Force boxes combined together...

I been seriously considering getting it as I dont like how the megaforce has only 5 assault marines, but there are a couple things holding me up.

Does anyone know if the new LE Veteran Sergeant has an Ultramarine symbol in his shoulder? Also, are the scouts able to be given different weapons than shown in the pic and the Razorback able to be made a Rhino?

At least you get a mobile force!

All units, bar the scouts, are fast units! Perhaps that's the new space marine thing?

I wasn't expecting that it would save any moeny as GW box sets only ever save you £2-3 at best, which GW save on packaging.

I would also rather get the Megaforce as it is more well rounded. This set seems to emphasise the fast attack section.

Scouts can infiltrate, making them 'fast'

I wouldn't really use the very expensive Command Squad becuase I will get Shrike when he comes out. Also, I'm not a big fan of bikes. And the Razorback, is not really what a Raven Guard player wants. So, for a new player, yes probably.A veteran, prolly not.

What I want is an Assault Termie Box, what the hell is up with that! A box for pfist termies but not the lc's and hammers. Grrrrrf!

Aside from a Dreadnought, and lack of heavy weapons, the set looks pretty well balanced for the average Marine player.

Phoenix- Who's Shrike?
